Wonderful - how to make a drama in strating a 'vintage' (well post vintage) engine. Never mind, if the performance pleases you ech day - then go for it... (the original engines were designed for a modicum of abuse, but now 'we' turn it into a drama. Grateful thanks for the entertainment! (I bought a Beta engine instead...

Hi, just started to watch your vlog. The boat looks great. Do you mind if I ask, did you have it surveyed before you bought?😉

Hi. Thanks, she is. She needs a bit of money spending on her though. Yes we did have a survey and also she failed the boat safety certificate. One of the reasons we were going to Chester as we need a full new electrical system. It's been quite challenging although still great fun 😁

Well done so far so good , it's all a learning experience! We are on the river Avon hope to venture to canals soon . Only a 30ft but just enough now we are retired. Simon has the most to do, as I have osteoporosis, I hope to help more on the canals, as no tow paths on rivers! I have been on a few canal holidays with my kids when I was married Trevor was the first place we went to. Happy boating x

Well done I'd say, some boaters say its a contact sport. But perseverance is the key. Walkie talkies are a must . We have them . Have a great adventure on the inland waterways. Keep at it all the best.

Hi Stephen. Oh no! we've been stuck a couple of times. I think best staying put when it's as windy as last weekend 😀 sometimes you have no choice though.

I got my boat wedged at the Daresbury winding hole a couple of years ago in a strong wind. I moored near Moore over Easter but turned at Grappenhall.

Oh my goodness! I hope you managed to get a shower and warm up! If you start to feel very 'fluey' after about a couple of weeks just get checked out at the doctors and say you were in the canal so they can rule out Weil's disease. Better to be safe than sorry. On the other hand, you can call yourself a proper boater now as you have been baptised!

The Trent goes down to Nottingham, to Newark, Gainsborough then into the River Humber near Goole then the Humber goes into the North Sea. The section from Gainsborough to Trent Falls is tidal. Enjoying the vlogs :)

The tunnel is 1.6 miles or 2.6 kilometres long. Prestonbrook tunnel is 1.13 km long. Of the two Harecastle is scarier lol. Good luck with your boat!

I let those kind of slips slide. You did catch it which is a good thing.. Your vlog just showed up on my feed today and I subscribed. I'm from northern Canada and Narrowboats intrigue me although I doubt I'll ever be on one. I am a least fortunate enough to be on the water everyday from May to November. I'll be looking forward to watching your adventures unfold.

@@Misterwhistle thanks. We appreciate the support. We've only had her a couple of weeks. Harder to steer than we imagined but that's cause she's an older heavy boat 😃
