Never understood homage watches. Just say you can't afford the real deal, and move onto something you *can* afford without pretending. Nonetheless a thorough review

I don't think anyone or at least the vast majority of people who buy homage watches are pretending it's the real deal. Most people buy homage watches because they genuinely enjoy the design and want to wear it regardless of the logo on the dial. I also know people who can afford the "original" expensive brand and they buy a homage first to see how it actually feels wearing it and if they will end up liking it before committing that amount of money. Since the first days of retail there's been "homage" versions of everything, from clothes to electronics. At the end of the day, in my humble opinion, wear whatever you want and enjoy it 😬that's the whole point.

Sorry to hear that. Aliexpress is a huge marketplace. Shipping to the US takes a bit of time and depending on the store you chose shipping times can take up to 2-4 weeks. I have bought tens of watches and items from Aliexpress and never had any issue. If your watch doesn't arrive after 20 or so days you can raise a case on Aliexpress and they will refund you, don't worry.

Excellent review! I already have the Steeldive black Willard, a strap monster! Bought today the Addiesdive 2118 that has the same dial but no lume, it has more of a dressy sport watch, check it out! 😊

I know I absolutely love them. They have bring a unique charm and character to the table that I think modern watches don't really achieve to the same dedree. Also, for someone like me who has smaller wrists, the compact dimensions of vintage models fare a lot better :)

Specht&Sohne seems to be inspired by A.Lange&Söhne and the "Sohne" should be "Söhne" which means sons and conveys the impression that this is a small family business, but Sohne means nothing at all :D

Yeah but its not the watch he designed for, lol 😂 gerald genta only worked with the big guys in swiss watch making. But this is a very nice homage with an high beat movement with a nice strap so for the little money theyre asking is a bargain .cheers for the review

Oh of course not, I did mention that he designed the Universal Geneve Polerouter. The Smiths version is just an homage :) But it's worth acknoledging the original designer.

You do not need silicon to be anti magnetic just a soft iron ring around the movement..

I see, thank you for clarifying. Still, I have looked up most authoritative sources on the specifications of this movement and haven't found any mentions of it being antimagnetic. So I doubt that caseback engraving is accurate.
