A place to share my passion for cars, motorbikes, diving and DIY detailing...

Whenever we take the Kawasaki Z1000SX out on a #ZedRun we will upload a video if there’s something fun and cool that happened.

there’ll also be videos here showing how I carry out paint correction and protection in my own garage at home... and how our old 1996 Subaru Impreza STI project is coming along...

I also adore scuba diving and I’m PADI Rescue Diver Certified. So I will also be uploading some dive videos too. There’s a bit of a back catalog on that topic so smash the bell and make sure you subscribe :)

there’ll be a few other things too, I’m sure :)

    I had an issue with customs at Newcastle ferry port - with a similar multi tool. The advised that as the blade was lockable, it was classed as a lock knife, and therefore illegal in the UK. Hence they confiscated it 🙁, I wasn’t going to risk missing the ferry by arguing the point. Saying that - this was the first time I have ever been subject to a “search” in over 20 ferry crossings, so just unlucky I guess.

    Helpful video, many thanks ZR! I had a strange experience yesterday on my 2019 N1K while starting up and going for a ride. While in my driveway I put bike into 1st gear (let warm up for about 30 seconds), then slowly let out the clutch and the bike shot down my driveway and into the street....I barely had time to pull in the clutch and brake. Can't believe I didn't drop the bike. I absolutely, positively did not dump the clutch! Not sure what the heck happened but now my bike makes a louder "clunking" sound when shifting into 1st, then up through 2nd into 3rd. I hope I didn't inadvertently damage the clutch itself. If it's still acting strangely then I'll take it to my mechanic. So strange....

    I stopped using the Bridgstones S21's and S22's after a couple of times they gave way in the wet. Now using Metzelers roadtec 01SE. Brilliant tyre for the Z1000SX, especially if you do any touring. Yes Heat cycles are part of the breaking in of the tyre, the layers of weave soften up and the tyre becomes more supple and thus grippy. Takes about 50 miles minimum and at least 3 heat cycles.

    Interesting and useful - thanks. BUT - the big mistake was to replace the bulb outside on a damp day that will aqllow condensation inside the lamp and will cause it to fog up. I would take the lamp fitting inside the house and allow it to fully get up to room temperature before changing the bulb - this will keep it dry and condensation-free. However - the better option is to replace the complete foglamp with sealed LED ones - these will be, and stay, condensation-free. This is what i am doing with my Disco 4 today (a previous owner obviously replaced the bulbs previously and there is condensation inside the curtent one - hence teh swap to LED).

    I saw another KZreadr install the same set up but noticed something different. The mid he installed appeared to look like the AW93-18808-EC, not the BC variant you both speak of. As the BC Variant is so hard to come by, I’m thinking of if getting the EC variant would be an option as I’ve noticed an abundance of them on eBay

  • @chisnsid
    @chisnsid6 ай бұрын

    Hi. The ex variant has as I understand it a tweeter in it also. As the wiring isn’t there in the doors for the ftype I assume it’ll only send a signal to the mid driver and the in built tweeter will be redundant. Double check this as if the tweeter is wired to the main driver terminals and only a capacitor is used for the crossover there may be an abundance of treble in your sound. I do think they are configured/ wired individually in the wiring plug but it well worth checking

The F-Type is well made and thus was easy to get it apart and back together without breaking all the clips! It's definitely an improvement...I'm able to have the fader mostly in the front now rather than mostly in the back. And it takes a lot more volume to get the resonance than before. People should set their expectations though...it doesn't suddenly sound like a class-D amp etc ;) But worth doing, definitely.
