I could always to an endo on my side-pull rim brakes, my v-brakes, cantis, and 160mm cable pull discs-with no wheel movement. Are sure you were really doing it right? With that said, I agree that sizing up on rotors may be a better and more economical way of getting better/cooler braking on down hill riding, than spending $$$ on "better" brakes. FYI, front brakes takes 70% of braking fores- so just size up the front(and save even more$$$ and weight).

Wissahickon in Philadelphia is one spot you have to check out. It's been around for years and is one of the first places I ever traveled to ride way back in about 1988. They have done a ton of work and added some newer trails, but a lot of original trails are still there. The cycling community in Philly is really great too. White Clay/Middle Run are two parks in Delaware that have about 30 miles of trails that are connected. These are flow trails with some elevation, but not a lot of climbing. That is a spot we ride regularly and a place I know well. They do regular trail maintenance there and the trails are very well built. Is that big honzo a 29er? Comes stock with 27.5 but from the looks that bike's has a lot of work done. I actually picked up a base model big honzo brand new for $800 earlier this year to do exactly what you're doing with the chameleon, can't wait to get it up to trexler this year.

Yup, it's a 29er! There's not much info on this bike online but from what I learned it does come stock 27.5. So I suppose the previous owner swapped the wheels. @@NickandKatieMTB it was actually your video at trexler that led me to your channel, it's only like an hour from me and I've been itching to get up there but just need to find the time, there's some fun riding around Downingtown and Exton, but nothing quite as purpose built for biking. As for the all purpose hardtail, a good fork, dial in the ergonomic bits to your liking and a good set of wheels seems to be all the modern hardtails really need. Oh and as long as you don't mind spinning the extra weight, something relatively high volume for the rear tire works wonders for the comfort factor (I'm running a 2.6 at ~20 psi and it definitely helps ease the strain on your legs rolling through some of the smaller rocks and roots).

When all the hype was going tubeless, it sounded great. But after further review and the fact of cleaning and the constant challenge of re-applying the sealant has deterred me from going tubless.. Many of my friends love tubeless, it's just not for me. This video reminds me of the slime sealant used in atv's and off-road vehicles. Nothing worse than changing a tire that's full of slime. We would spend 10 minutes changing the tire and an hour cleaning all the goop off our clothes, shoes, and our expensive tire machine..... and not to mention the awful odor!
