    Last time I rode the trail (2019) I don't remember all of those irregularities in the pavement which now appear to be acting as speed bumps. Got to be hard on a trike, even one with full suspension.

    Needed pictures of your trike on the video. Hase Lepus' here with Rohloff gearboxes. Cannot ride self-owned tadpole trikes for 15 years now. Wheelchair/forearm crutches on/off here. 25-inch seat height option. Never outgrow a delta planform recumbent trike. Grow oldest on a delta planform recumbent trike. Have an ICE Sprint X 26 Tour trike, recently added a motor. On the flats, can't see a bicycle competing with a trike at speed as weight isnt an issue on the flats and wind resistance counts for 90% of the power needed, you being more aerodynamic. And then , you have the power of the motor on top of that.

    I recently had my first experience passing horses on the trail (road), on my bike. (Me, my wife, and my son). The horses heard us when we were quite far back.. They kept glancing back... But the riders were in their own little world and did not. We were very very slow. And when we got next to them, I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden one of the horses (w/ a young, maybe teen rider) freaked out and ran literally sideways, and the girl fell off. Horse people were taking up the ENTIRE road, too.. (was a forest road.. not a trail). The rest of the group had no problem.. So, I think it was an issue of the rider doing something wrong. But.. How did the riders not notice their horses looking back over their solders for 5 minutes as we approached? How did they not hear us?? People need to pay attention!

    When I added the VersaBars to the Rover it gave me a better option for mirrors and a place to add a GoPro (left) and a 360° (right), and other items. When riding the GoPro 6 captures most everything in front *and* uses the Mirrycle mirror to capture behind/side. This way when riding the camera captures more, and is an unbiased witness should I ever be involved in an accident. And yes, it captures an angle often missed otherwise. 😃

    Did you figure out what caused the issue?

  • @JamesMiller_ShadowWalker
    @JamesMiller_ShadowWalker Жыл бұрын

    Was never told the exact reasons, no. Was hinted on heat issue, that the motor was not intended for that much weight, and was suggested to go with a 1,000 watt Bafang. TSDZ2 was tuned down to 650 watts to keep it lasting longer. In the end is had new gears installed reverting it back to a TSDZ1 in effect. Got a 1500 watt Bafang M625 installed. Was not easy to install to a recumbent trike. Luckily found a dealer in China selling the oddly shaped leads. Ended up having to splice the battery communications wires and extend them out almost 3 feet. Still has the same issue as other Bafang motors do, speed sensor. With the M625, if anything (save lights or brake sensors) goes awry the system dies. However, I was able to get to 26 MPH on the M625. TSDZ2 I only maxed out around 18 MPH and that was pushing it. Think the biggest issue with the TSDZ2 is they need an upgraded gear, a heat kit installed, probably some heat sinks on the outer case, and not to push it. Also it is not designed for anything but pavement, and no riders over 200 pounds. The gears are the weakest points so as not to ruin the motor. That is with all e-motors though. We went with the M625 as they were geared for cargo bikes. There is not massive leap of power at the start. Instead it feels just like a normal bike/trike then slowly builds up. If it will last more than 113 miles I will be pleased.

    @@svengalil If I was to sum it up, Ghost (Cadence) Mode while on unpaved roads was probably where it met its early demise. The added stress, combined with heat building up. Personal weight (365#) was the other issue. That is where Eco Cycles suggested the higher end Bafang. A close friend did some research. He came up with the M625 Idea. Can't wait for better riding weather. Stay off Cadence (Ghost Mode) if the rider is overweight.

    Ordro EP8 picks up wind and surrounding noises. Voice pickup is awful. Video is situational, yet not fluid. SJCam has better video, yet the noise pickup is bad. Voice was decent. Too small of a format. GoPro 6 Black is clearly the winner. Older stabilization still roxxors. Video is terrific, yet covers most (not all) situations. Audio is a huge plus, as well as multiple settings that are easy to access from the camera. Batteries can be swapped out easily.

    The IQUI 360 Pocket Camera looks like a MIB Neuralyzer. It can take MANY pictures, yet videos have to be under 30 seconds in length. The companion app (smartphone needed) can do wonders to still photos turning them into small movie clips with oodles of effects, motion, filters, and more. Even has four lens. It's downfall was resolution and lack of mounting options. It was made more for group selfies; where one could see all around the camera's perspective as opposed to a flat photo, or series of photos. I find the IQUI camera a fascinating technical marvel. GB-Goodies on Amazon has a few new versions in stock.
