I built race cars for Jim Perry JR and was his crew chief in the mid 80s. I built the chassis and Jay built the engines. We raced against Howard and Bret. I was there the night Howard part his super on the top of the turn four fence. I also did the oil painting of Bret's car when he won the championship at Ocean speedway in Watsonville.

I watched Kyle race the little carts at cycleland. Speedway. Most of us knew he was special behind the wheel when he was 10 and beating guys that raced that track for 15 years. We nicknamed him Pokémon 🤣 Yeah, I agree, looks like he got the pavement thing figured out! 🇺🇸 🎉

Just ran across this video. I remember the Shannahan Offy back in the 70's when I had a Chevy II Kurtis midget. My car was old, worn out and I raced on my lunch money budget! But I got out there when I could! Sure wish I could have ran fast enough to have participated more than I did. BCRA always had a very large car count!

Interesting to watch. Some of those cars are going quick. I run a dirt classic Supermod. Here in South Oz. One of those looks nearly the same as mine.! The speed difference is about the same so hard work sometimes. The first heat was a Marshall Sargeant car No 7. A visitor here in the late 60s. A pity to see it bent.

I can remember herb being introduced as the man with the beard. He would not cut it until he won a main event at San Jose speedway. The great Saturday night races.

You should do a program on Clyde palmer al pombo, Marshall Sargent, Herman Hutton, bill Scott and Joe linard. Those were great san jose race track drivers for their era. I really miss those days at the track
