The Honor Blackman episodes were decent but recorded on ancient Video Tape, so the image quality and sound weren't very good. Beginning with season 4, they switched to 35mm, and quality dramatically improved, and it allowed for more location work. Diana Rigg and Patrick Macnee had wonderful chemistry together. Emma Peel was not inferior to John Steed she was every bit his equal. She was also gorgeous, witty, and thoroughly emancipated. She was even called that on the show by other characters. She was considered a role model by many women of that time as well as a fashion icon. She was considered by many to be a strong feminist but she didn't consider herself to be a feminist even though fiercely independent- some of her character came through as the "Queen of Thorn's" on GOT's- that was her in real life if you annoyed her. She had a sharp wit. She once called an annoying Physician "Lunch" because his name was the same as a common British food. The Beatles were even "The Avengers" fans. "The Hour That Never Was" episode was claimed to be the inspiration for the album cover for "Abbey Road" and Paul McCartney, in 1967, stopped at Diana Rigg's home with a copy of "Sgt Pepper" and told Dame Diana Rigg "I just wanted to meet you". "The Avengers" was so heavily censored in the US that 5 Emma Peel episodes weren't released in the US until the 1990s. Patrick Macnee said she was very naughty on set. He didn't elaborate on that, and I have always wondered what she did that he considered naughty? I heard that she swore a lot before it was considered acceptable. She was particularly fond of the expression "Bloody" when it was still considered a profanity in Britain.
I loved seasons 4 to 6.1. After season 4, Episode 10, Diana's salary was tripled. Diana Rigg was used to theater pay, which was low, so she didn't realize how low her pay was. She also was tired of the long hours and the fact that she only considered her chauffeur and Patrick Macnee to be friends. I tried to watch a couple of Linda Thorson episodes, but they were bad, not well-acted, and poorly written. I know that Linda Thorson was 19 from Canada and a producer's girlfriend when hired. She later married someone else. I wish that they had brought back Hannah Wild (Charlotte Rampling) she would have been closer in talent to Dame Diana Rigg. I like the humor of "The Avengers"; for example, Emma Peel's "Girl from Auntie" started with Emma leaving an MFU ball in the AM. I finally realized that MFU stood for "Man from Uncle". One had to watch closely for all the puns. I have always found the tie between James Bond and the Avengers to be interesting. Not only did Honor Blackman act in Goldfinger, but even Steed's steel-brimmed hat was lifted to Bond. Both Diana Rigg and future New Avenger Joanna Lumley were in OHMSS.
Looks like a mixture of some decent beers and some to avoid! Great review video!
Was this show connected to the Marvel Avengers or no? I believe Marvel unveiled them around that time too.
@SuburbanAdventures Nope, completely separate from those johnny-come-latelys with the shields, hammers, and fancy suits of armour. In fact, in the UK, the first Avengers film was retitled as "Avengers Assemble" in order to avoid confusion with what us Brits called "the proper Avengers"! 😉
@@TheBigDaddyDReviews1 I think the Avengers first appeared in the Marvel comics in the early 1960's.
@SuburbanAdventures The first episode of The Avengers, Hot Snow was originally broadcast on 7th January 1961. The Marvel team made its debut in The Avengers #1, cover-dated September 1963.
Great video guys, and an absolutely awesome series (particualrly season 4, 5 and 6)..top 3 of all time for me!
@skurge101 Thank you, glad that you've enjoyed this retrospective back over the Avengers! Part 3 is coming up soon!

@@TrevorTillman-id4pb Very cool 😎
My good friend John Porter Davison was in one or two episodes, but usually he got shot very early on.
Oh wow, really? That's very cool!
Fantastic second new video, talking about the classic Avengers tv series. I'm really looking forward to part 3. :)
Glad you are enjoying this series!
Just realised that Patrick and Dianna Rigg have both been in Bond Movies
@DRSEXPLORING And Honor Blackman too!
hello... good shorts
@A.W.B. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. Check out my channel for other Video Game Endings!
@@TheBigDaddyDReviews1 Hoh fantastic...
Was the game fan made? Or just the various endings?
@SuburbanAdventures It was indeed! Very impressive, too! Unfortunately, Sega didn't realise the potential that this could have had and tried to get it shut down. They've tried to do the same more recently with a fan-made Golden Axe game.
A couple of great beers to review. A good stout during the winter always goes down well!
@naturalhealthguys1515 Oh yes, definitely. Unfortunately, Magic Rock aren't doing kegs for the Perfect Draft anymore. Which is a real shame.
where can i get a copy of this?
@@shaunblacksmith 😆
This sounds surprisingly brilliant. very Pet Shop Boys.
@@DabionFreedom I know, right? You're not the only person to think that!
The Mania Ending is so funny with Opa-Opa from Super Fantasy Zone's cameo appearance and the picnic theme song in the staff credits.
It's great, isn't it?? Such a massive change in tone from the other endings!
@@TheBigDaddyDReviews1 Yes it's great indeed.
I actually prefer the earlier seasons, because the stories were more serious. Not that Steed's humor was unappreciated. And I like sci-fi and horror, but the later seasons just didn't take it seriously enough, probably influenced by the camp of the Batman TV show. If only someone would fix the terrible sound quality of the early seasons! Also, it rather bothers me that each successive partner seems to be more submissive to Steed, going from Cathy Gale, who doesn't fully trust him, to Emma Peel, who's more than willing to go along with him, to Tara King, who practically worships him.
@macsnafu It certainly differed in tone as the series went on. We went from drug dealers, murderous gangsters and gold smugglers to shrinking rays, giant rats, and robotic karate-chopping assassins!
I’m a big Black sheep brewery fan, the best bitter is superb , full of flavour 👍
This brought back some memories. Thanks for some insightful stories and facts.
@naturalhealthguys1515 No problem, glad you enjoyed the video. Currently working on Part 2 as we speak. This might even end up becoming a three part video!
Christopher Lee’s Master would be an Earth scientist just like Cushing’s Dr. Who. We learn his real name from the get go, a friend of Cushing’s Dr. Who. He winds up going power mad, and betrays Cushing’s Dr. Who, while he tells him he should call him Master instead of his real name from now on.
That's a great idea! What a shame that it didn't happen!
I remember as a child in the 70s that Apaches was frequently shown when the BBC programme Farming was broadcast on Sunday lunchtimes. Growing up on a farm you would have freedom to roam & play wherever. Also you would be expected to do chores & a variety of jobs around the farm. I would use a petrol lawn mower aged 8 & was driving a tractor aged 10. Unfortunately serious accidents & fatalities on farms were very frequent. Times have changed the HSE , NFU & DEFRA have helped to reduce casualties & fatalities on farms.
The new adventures of He-man did not work, I understand they were trying but I did not enjoy it because no Battlecat and no Orko either, I am sorry but the 2002 revival handled it so much better.
@eleanorhogan8643 You'll get no argument from me on that. In fact, I actually did a video about New Adventures to look into why it didn't work. Check it out on my channel. You'll find it in the He-Man Reviews playlist.
@@TheBigDaddyDReviews1Thank you I shall.
Looks like you had a great selection of beers to taste and review. Do you drink and review all the beers in one go, or over the course of a few weeks? There are loads of Yorkshire beers to review.
@naturalhealthguys1515 Oh blimey, it usually takes a full weeks to get through all the beers! I'd be on my back by the end of the episode otherwise! 😄
@@TheBigDaddyDReviews1 Haha!
Great footage! Looks like you had great seats.
@@SuburbanAdventures Thanks!
I’ll admit, the Netflix. Didn’t care for it too much. But. There is a part or two that got me to shed a tear.
Good review. Enjoy the summer with a very cold pint!!!

Ooh looking forward to the Belgian spiced!! Glad you had success with the IPA, I wonder what the other KZreadrs were doing wrong?
@@supchick5757 Ah, I've actually already done the Belgian spiced ale. In fact, it was the first beer I brewed on the Pinter. Let me get you the link for that video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mZuNk86dfZO-obA.htmlsi=-i1Wu0ALz-EPM-NW
Brilliant beer review 😊 Do beer companies send you free beer for you to review???
@DRSEXPLORING Pinter thrmselves actually did send me a Pinter 3 machine and a couple of beers to review. I also had Camden Town Brewery send me a box of beers after I'd done a video at their Beer Hall whilst sightseeing in London.
Looks like the perfect pint! A great review of a good-looking IPA. Thanks for sharing.

Great review. That is a handy little device you've got there.
Thank you. Yes, I am rather pleased with my Pinter!

Good to go back in time and check out some Dutch beers....and it's good to see how Mabbers Tavern started off on its famous journey to the present day! Great video.
Thank you Jeff!
Another great review! Some of the best Dr Who episodes yet me thinks
This was a good one. After the last three episodes where the Doctor has either been kept in a single spot (Boom), disappeared (73 Yards) or behind a video screen (Dot and Bubble), it's great to see Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor front and centre of the story this time.
I didn't think Revelation or Kevin Smith needed redemption. I think that small but loud part of each fandom whose toxicity usually derails whatever new and exciting storytelling a franchise is doing striked again here and just like how Star Wars overcorrected to disasters results in The Rise of Skywalker, so did Revolution to much more satisfying results. There were things "fans" complained about that were our of the original show. Revelation did beautiful character work for the entire main cast except He-Man because what else is there to say about him? But the work they did on making Adam the real hero was stunning. And just like in Revolution where all they did was give He-Man a new suit, Adam's growth was compelling and the basis for the entire story. I also think this series suffered from a shortened episode order. It makes no sense for Andra or the people of Eternia to accept Keldor's technological enhancements so fast, or at all given the group mind-wipe of last series. I wanted the story to be able to breathe more, to spend more time with Granamyr, Gwildor and even Orko who may have had the most emotional arc last season. So I think Revolution was good but I thought Revelation was spectacular and I hope series 3 gives us more of that grand, epic storytelling. Lastly, I love Mark Hamill's Skeletor. I didn't watch Batman so his performance feels right and in line with the camp and menace of Filmation. Great review. I appreciate your more even handed approach.
Thank you, and in turn I appreciate your detailed and thoughtful comments 😊 👍
Heard it before.like 20 years ago 😂 still brilliant 😂
It's a great joke to share with friends over a few drinks.
Hi. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Don Pancho in May 2024. We stayed in room 203 and it was lovely but the next time I would like a high up standard room at the don pancho can you recommend a high room number please.
I think we were on the 11th floor when we stayed. Just tell the hotel that you want a higher room number, I'm sure that they're be happy to accommodate.
Amazing view of Old Town Benidorm, I bet it looks even better at night.
The he man series did end, but the he man story didn’t! It continued through the 2nd season of she ra, where he man helped out she ra in some episodes including helping her with a fight with skeletor! As far as she ra goes, the story ended with the newer version of she ra when they defeated Hordak and he accepted defeat!
He-view!! Love it!!
Thank you! If you like this, then I have an entire playlist of He-Man related content on my channel for your enjoyment!
Such a great cartoon! I can't even tell you how many hours of my childhood were spent either watching the show or playing with my He-man action figures.😂
Oh yes, there's a lot of happy childhood memories associated with this show and the toy line!
God, I remember as a kid that I hated Orko 😂 I have not seen the modern episodes of He-Man. It does make you wonder if they intentionally made He-Man, and other similar cartoons back i the 80s homoerotic. It's only when you watched them as an adult that you go, hang on a minute. I remember re-watching Thundercats on DVD and I had completely forgotten that in the first episode the Thundercats were bollock naked. Rentaghost was less camp than the US cartoons. 🤣
It was probably quite innocent at the time ... and it wasn't until later when people started to go, "Oh, hang on a minute there ...
