  This is not an official mix or released version of the song by the way. It is a lovingly created fan remix presumably made by the original poster. That's not a criticism of a job well done it is merely an observed fact for those who are interested in such things. The original version is the 5' 39 instrumental on the AA side of the Merciful Release 7" single SIS 010 (giving ground a.v.) to which vocals were later added vocals by James Ray. This then became the 4' 52 A side of said 7" single (giving ground R.S.V. or Revised Standard Version in the same way as the King James Bible). An extended 7'32 mix of the song was released on the Merciful Release album 'Gift' SIS 020. This 12 min extended remix seems entirely remixed from the version found oF Gift.   @@neonsuntan the album version is actually made from the 2 7" versions. they were created using an Oberheimer DMX & a 1986 tech sequencer in Andrews london office then cleaned up in the studio at Bridlington

  @@suprasumo7962 she past away, boy harsher, creux lies, some of the newer robert smith remixes with other bands like chvrches who i have personally loved since day one, maybe filmmaker, deathconsciousness, hanl, or unconscious... which is heavier industrial stuff. newer xymox is still great

  James Ray doing a passable Eldritch impersonation- so passable that to this days rumours persist that Andrew pulled a fast one on WEA and actually sang on this. Though I imagine if that was the case he would have said so by now in order to rub WEA's face in it.

  Yep. The high register stuff in particular gives it away. The low stuff is really close to Andrew's tone but as he climbs higher it's easy to pick that it def wasn't Andrew, the timbre is just different.
