Hey guys, I've been a sewing instructor for a number of years and love sharing my sewing knowledge through practical application. I make video's of things I make for my shop and show you how to do it all the while sharing little tips and tricks for sewing, from french seams to tools of the trade to how to use those tools to the best of our ability to save time and money as we sew. I hope you enjoy my video's and if there's something you'd like to learn, please leave that in the comment section ;-)

What is the link for the subscription box? I cannot find it.
Great video❤ thank you so much 😊
You are so welcome 🙂
I need this!
@@sewmthanded7817 you can check with Kim and Alix over at K&A Custom Fabrics and see if they have any kits left other wise it will be a few months and then it will be a sew along.
The ghost was my daughters favorite Happy Meal bucket, can't wait to make it for her! Great instructions, as always! Thank you!!
I'm so glad they were clear for you!
Love love this bag.❤❤❤❤
I do too!
What a great wallet pattern & tutorial! Thanks for the generous gift of a free pattern! ❤❤
No problem, I hope you like it!
Can you please do a video on where you sourced your thread from as well please. And if you have a small business and you need multiples of the same hardware would you still get them from the mentioned suppliers or amazon?
I go back and forth on where I get my stuff, it just depends on if I need something in a hurry (I order from Amazon) or if I can wait. I got my thread from Sunny Sewing machine for a while but just discovered that Waywak carries the thread I need and it's a little cheaper.
Hi Faith! I’ve been trying to find the Facebook group. Any idea if it’s still going and what it’s called or how I join?
Yep, here's a link. facebook.com/groups/3553509934878188 It looks like the old group was archived 😞
Thanks so much! ❤
@@tjwobse you're so welcome!
I love this bag so much!!! Sorry I’m late to the party. Do you think it’s domestic machine friendly?
It is now! K&A made another version that has a cotton lining instead of it all being vinyl. You're never too late to try these out!
I love this!!!
How do you tie off the ladder stitch when finished?
Loop the thread around your needle three times and then pull the knots down to the end of your ladder stitch. I hope that makes sense. You just want to tie it off.
The only "Food Safe" fabric I can find locally is PUL. Do you have another brand name I can look up?
Did you check Etsy? That's where I found mine.
Your videos are incredible! Your instructions are so easy to follow and understand. You enunciate beautifully. So refreshing! I've been sewing, cooking etc., since age 8. I'm now 73. I made 80% of my clothes up until 20 years ago. I am so excited I found your videos! Thank you soooo very much for sharing. Oh, BTW, instead of using the foam/sponge what do you think of cotton batting?
Thank you so much, I work really hard on these videos. I'm not sure, if you give it a try and it works let me know!
I’m starting my sewing business and this video. You had great advice. Thank you.
You're very welcome! I'm glad it helped!
This looks different than the K&A pattern. Can you share what pattern this is?
It's slightly different but the K&A pattern has the ID panel which a lot of people really like.
Hi Faith! I'm putting together my first Brinley and I have a quick question. My gusset is 20.5" as stated in the pattern, yet when I clip it around the back flap, it protrudes beyond the top of the back panel a little more than 1/4" on both sides. I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong because in your video it appears the gusset is perfectly aligned with no overage, if that makes sense. I don't want to cut the gusset down before I ask you.
Did you ask on FB? If your gusset is too big you need to make those clips around the roundy bits and it will fit.
@@faithwerksdesigns6197 Yes, that was me. My gusset turned out perfect, no puckers!
I made this for a friend who's niece's father died and wanted a bear out of one of his shirts!Imade the small bear from a 3x shirt..had trouble with the head right from the start, thank God for this video!!
I'm so glad it helped!!
Сумка, для дома, для хранения клубков, для вязания. Ну и для швейных принадлежностей. Если сумку приподнять с клубками, то сумка сложится. Для дома нормально.👍
ahhh thank you for the easy tutorial ! I just transformed an old lace table cloth into a very cute skirt ! wouhouuu !
I wanna see!!!! Can you share it on my show off group? facebook.com/groups/748011670119610
Thanks for the reality check. Most of these style of tools that start like scissors lifting fabric take a lot of practice to get accurate cutting. I watched as it is smaller handle size while the larger ones seem too high for me as most tables are not low enough for short people then add high handled tools and you are stuffed. Appreciate the demonstration that shows it isn't instant success. One video I watched today compared electic scissors to rotary cutter and indeed she weighted down one side of her fabric and scissors gave a straighter cleaner edge. Both were lower end of price range and she stuck to same cost for both to be fair. I was suprised to see scissors smoother than rotary blade but rotatry blade not circular so again practice may have given better cut with rotary one. Good luck to all of you. I do batch cutting for simple bags for charity and like you it is impacting on my arm, I have learned to cut left handed to give other one a rest. It may well be the more costly ones will pay dividends in long run especially if able to use with ruler to cut down on practice time ;) Thanks again
I'm glad it helped and now you have me wondering which one would cut easier. I might have to try out a set of electric scissors.
Mine is done! Not a bad make - did not purchase the written instructions so I followed your video. Pretty easy to follow. I have an HD9 V2 it was pretty simple and straight forward. I did use WPC for the inside of the pocket rather than coordinating fabric, (which i did not have) and I prefer it as it wears better when there are keys and such inside. I used SF101 for my fabric backing and I was okay - too light for me so I would probably work with Woven Fuse 2 or WPC in blue if I were just making the bag - I used the rainbow hardware and it was too fun! I am not sure if I am keeping this one but I would make another and put the Allons-y on the bottom of the front flat for more weight and a better look. So, yes, you could do this on a domestic if your domestic likes pebble vinyl and SF 101 backed fabric. Thank you for a fun bag!
That's awesome! We'd love to see it in the group!
Would this work for the cookie tin bag? I am looking for a tutorial.
Danielle did a tutorial for the Cookie tin, there are different seam allowances so you should watch that video.
This video might work. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lGZnsq2Amca2hLg.html
Love it 😍
Thank you!
Love this! Are both fabrics a waterproof canvas?
Hi, just the lining is waterproof canvas 🙂
What about washing?😊
They wash just fine 🙂 Throw them in the washer with your rags and towels and they're ready to be reused!
Another difference between Sailrite and the lower end Juki is speed. They’re not even half as fast.
Agreed!
The industrials with a table you can take the head out that’s the weight of it. You can definitely get it upstairs if you can make the clearance.
Yep, just get those muscles ready lol
What bag did you get the zipper template from?
I honestly do not remember at this point, I'm thinking it was an Oreo Rosa bag.
I was just finally able to grab some her last post I bought the base coat and black
Let me know how you like it!
@@faithwerksdesigns6197 I haven't received it yet but will try and remember when I do 😂
What pattern is this? I just saw the Christmas Story house for the first time in person and I've lived near-ish to it all my life. Lol
It's the latest Sew Along from K&A Custom Fabrics and you can purchase the panel there. It's not a "pattern" per se but your "pattern" is printed on the panels. There's no proof of purchase like with a cut n sew, these are exclusive to K&A. There should be a link in the description.
I would never attempt to make these, but they are fabulous! You did a great job and your tutorial is spot on. Thank you.
Thank you, I try hard to explain everything as best I can 🙂 but you should give it a try, it's not as hard as it looks lol
Can you tell me what the Finnish length measurement was using a 70-inch tablecloth
I'm not sure, you would have to do the math from your waist and see how far it would be after that. Everyone's waist is different so it just depends.
excellent tutorial!!! Thank you, its beautifully done!
Thank you so much!
Where can we get the patterns??
It's live now! www.faithwerksdesigns.com/shop/p/ghost-and-pumpkin-bucket-bag
Hi need your face book and your email if I would love to open my alterations business
LISTEN, i haven't been this excited for a pattern in a LONG time!!!
Yay!!! I'm so glad 🙂 when you make it don't forget to show it off in my show off group!
I love these bags! I also like a lot of detailed instructions, it helps me because I like to follow the written instructions as opposed to the video.
The written instructions are coming! We are just finishing everything up.
I couldn't find the link to the pattern. I really like this bag! You did a good tutorial! 😊

Where do you obtain the pattern from please. Checked the Mekaposh site but couldn’t find it. Could this be made with canvas, soft and stable and a cotton woven or WPC lining? Thanks
I used a waterproof canvas and she may not have loaded it just yet. Let me message her and I'll get a link for you.

What is the finished size
I’ll have to look around and see if I can find them, I don’t have one handy and I always forget to say it in the videos :-(
Love it ❤

Where can I purchase this vinyl?
Here is a link 🙂 www.kacustomfabrics.com/product-page/original-chocolate-frog-bag-panel
I just ordered one from Amazon. I do not expect to cut pieces for a quilt that have to be accurately cut. Like the one I have on my fabric mat now. It must be precisely cut. However, I do process a lot of old clothing for various projects and that processing it would be great for. Especially the jeans. A lot of the cutting for some projects don't need precise cuts, just close enough. Will it replace my regular rotary cutter. Nope. Will it replace my scissors, not completely, but it will reduce my usage and ease my arthritis. I think it has its place. I was thinking of getting regular electric scissors. I think it will suit the purposes it was intended for. It will suit the majority of my cutting needs. It will also come in handy for a lot of other cutting jobs in my house. Though I just ordered a more ergonomic rotary cutter to go with it for my accurate and straight cutting needs. I have been promised a donation and we will see how well it processes it. That is if it shows up on my doorstep. Promised donations don't always show up.
That would be cool, let me know how it goes!
Testing done. The above assessment is pretty accurate and I had similar results. It does cut fabric and very straight, but you have to set things up right. On dominant side, weight the fabric with whatever you have and hold other side taught with your hand. The fabric must be taught. Not drum tight, but snug. If you wanted to cut lots of yardage, you would have to rig up a clamping system on your sewing table. It powered through jean seams and made short work of processing the usable fabric into sections. Still needed to weight one side to have a reasonable straight cut. I just placed my scissors on it and got straight cuts and clean cuts. Before I snipped and ripped and dealt with the results. Happy with it and it does what I bought it for. Just wish it could cut without the fabric having to be held taught.
Please verify the beginning sizes of your fabrics ( top and bottom of both cotton outside and PUL inside.) Video is confusing on this.
very cute. I love it
Thank you!
Love your excitement! Sooo cute! I can tell you put a lot of work into this. ❤
