Learn Grant Writing

Learn Grant Writing

Once upon a time, a grant writer unearthed a big problem: there were no options for learning to write grants in a modern, refreshing way. Existing options were “old school” and expensive.

The idea? Create an online learning experience that makes grant writing approachable and fun.

Learn Grant Writing was founded on the belief that our time should be spent adding real value to our communities and leading fulfilling lives.

You're in the right place if you want to...
🔸 explore your curiosity
🔸 change careers
🔸 freelance grant write
🔸 volunteer, or
🔸 improve an existing skill.

No sugar coating it! Grant writing is hard work. But, if it fits your personality and goals, it can be life changing. Getting professionally trained in grant writing can save you years of mistakes and lost grants, make you indispensable, and give you wonderful lifestyle flexibility.

You can become a grant writing unicorn 🦄 faster than you might realize. Learn more: www.learngrantwriting.org/

    Can I please have a meeting with you? What if I’m a college dropout, but I have skills with bid solicitations and I have worked with the federal services. $500 monthly is expensive, how soon can I get a job if I pay that amount?

    Why should someone pay a grant writer upfront when the grant seeker does not know if the writer will perform and result in a grant for the grant seeker?

  • @LearnGrantWriting
    @LearnGrantWriting7 күн бұрын

    A fair question and a good reason to take things step-by-step with a grant consultant. Consider asking questions about their background and experience. Have a discovery call to see if it feels right. Just remember that, par the industry, there is no 100% guarantee when you're going after grants. Therefore you're aiming for the the highest likelihood of success and someone (either within your organization or as an outside consultant) to guide you through the process (from outreach to hitting submit) that knows what they're doing. You're paying for expertise to get you the best result. You're not paying for a guaranteed win because it's an unrealistic standard in the grant world. Does that make sense?

    Would these grants cover flight school?

  • @LearnGrantWriting
    @LearnGrantWriting7 күн бұрын

    There are all kinds of grants out there, though grant funding for individuals (i.e. flight school) aren't as common. You'd probably want to start with financial aid / scholarships through your school first if you're looking for individual funding. Though you can search on the grants.gov site using your keywords to see what comes up as a next step.

    I agree that reaching out to funders makes sense. But it only makes sense when the funders provide a way to reach out to them. Many do not. One way to find out more about a potential funder is to review the charity's Federal 990 report. It is the place to get a sense of what and who they fund, and their median funding amounts.

    Matt from Valdez here! Definitely swinging by when I go to McCarthy! Been researching today on grant writing, types of grants, fundraising, etc. as I have many ideas that I want to manifest. Currently I'm focusing on a reversing desertification plan starting at a k-12 summer camp turned school I work with in southern arizona. Been trying to figure out how to best structure my entry into the project and also how to develop it along with all its branches... running into complexity on how to manage my nonprofit and for profit ideas. My ultimate mission is to develop these nest egg communities that focus on permaculture, reversing desertification, developing skills, and also developing business opportunities. I also have some nest egg alaska ideas that are sorta similar to your Eudaimonia Machine project you brought up. Carpe Diem!
