I have been following your journey since December. I found you while researching in prep for my own TA (hopefully not too far in the future). I am in Western Australia and hope to start with a 5-week hike this coming December/January, to "check it out" before embarking on the epic journey of the whole TA. I’m the hiker and my husband is the bike packer, but we have done both at times. I joined him in cycling the Munda Biddi (1000km mtb trail in WA). One thing I didn’t factor in to my bike training was the 1000s of micro corrections that you do with the handlebars EVERYDAY. I would suggest doing exercises that work upper arms, shoulders and across your upper back. Happy hiking/cycling.
