Don’t be too disappointed Nicky. I will be seventy next birthday and have found that with age the body struggles even with extra training performance starts to decline 😂

Loved watching your videos, so inspirational i am doing walk sobo next year 25/26 i also want to do a travel vlog like you can i ask which video editing app you used and where you only up loading when you had wifi or were using data to upload, also which network were you using, i live in nz and use 2 degrees but not sure what it is like in the bush, thanks ans again very detailed and inspirational 😊

I have been following your journey since December. I found you while researching in prep for my own TA (hopefully not too far in the future). Re weight maybe check out Marty Kendell he is an aussie who has a great site Optimising Nutrition....i am also like you trying to maintain and have found him really helpful. It is about eating good nutrition feeling satiated whilst not blowing out calories.... Anyway just a thought and he is your neck of the woods.. X great to catch up thanks so much for updating...... still inspiring us all xx

I’m the hiker and my husband is the bike packer, but we have done both at times. I joined him in cycling the Munda Biddi (1000km mtb trail in WA). One thing I didn’t factor in to my bike training was the 1000s of micro corrections that you do with the handlebars EVERYDAY. I would suggest doing exercises that work upper arms, shoulders and across your upper back. Happy hiking/cycling.

Great update. Lovely to hear your positive happy chats. Ooh the AAWT would be a good challenge. There are AAWT trail angels and facebook gp to help with planning. ( Ive only done a few sections). Also you can walk from Walls of Jerusalem NP (spectacular scenery) down onto the Overland track for a more remote adventure.

Questions about river crossings: Did you have much experience with river crossings before doing the TA? Did you take a river crossing course in NZ and if so would you recommend it?
