What about "inside" the iron?? Is it ever necessary to add vinegar in the water reservoir and when hot, use "steam", then rinse?
@olisoinc4 ай бұрын
Hello, It is only necessary to clean the inside of the iron, if it becomes clogged with scale from hard water, reducing the steam output. This is recognized by a white build up around the steam holes or white flakes coming out with the steam. The best way to clean this is fill the iron with just water, turn the iron to cotton/linen and when hot unplug and turn the steam to maximum and push the burst as steam as much as possible. Be careful doing this, as hot water and steam with the scale will wash out of the holes. Its best done over an old towel or the sink. This process can be repeated several times to the scale has been removed. We do not recommend using vinegar or descaling liquid in the irons, as this can damage the surface of the steam chamber.

Since that start my daughter and I have made many button bouquets with vintage buttons and broken jewelry in vintage and newer containers and have them on Etsy under Redreamed Treasures. I have probably made several thousand button flowers in this last year and am always on the lookout for cool buttons . Thanks for the inspiration found in your book...

We're sorry to hear about your Oliso iron leaking and dropping particles. As long as the iron is not damaged, leaking usually occurs for one of two reasons: first, the iron is not hot enough to make steam, and second, the overuse of the burst of a steam button. Always ensure the iron is at the hottest linen/cotton setting and the green indicator light has stopped flashing and shows solid green before steam ironing. Also, always switch the variable steam off when ironing at a lower temperature. When using the burst of steam, always allow a short pause between pushes of the button to let all the steam escape so it does not condense in the steam chamber and cause a leak. Stop using the burst of steam when the indicator light flashes. White particles dropping from the iron are most likely scale caused by minerals in the water. Generally, we recommend using regular tap water in our irons unless it is very hard, in which case we suggest mixing it 50:50 with distilled water. Never use pure distilled water. Cheap bottled spring water with a low mineral content is another option. We hope this is useful, but please don't hesitate to contact Oliso consumer service, who will be happy to try to resolve the issue.
