As a creator and entrepreneur, I am driven by the power of creativity. I believe that through cultivating the art of creative thinking, anything is possible. I believe that every person has the ability to be a creator, and it's my goal to help people tap into that human super power and use it to make a difference in their lives and the world around them.
Though I've been many things, with every project, I strive to use my story to unite people through shared experiences, inspire change, and challenge the people to grow. Whether I'm working on designing a brand for a company, creating a marketing campaign for a product, casting vision to a team, or simply sharing a personal story with a friend, I am always looking for ways to connect with people and inspire them to make a positive impact in the world.

Nice font.
I agree!
I’m rather excited to have something new to use and anything based on something Teutonic is fine by me 🇨🇭
Totally agree! A refresh is good for our eyes. 🤩
Thank you
You're welcome!
Sir please make comparison video on web developement vs designer (there are lot of different fields in graphics designer, web design, logo, Baner, thumbnail designer) vs animation, digital art. How to choose between these? Can I do freelancing for lifetime? Can I do it without degree, college? Can I take it as a business? How to clear confusion, which one is for which person or personality, how to choose?
A great topic of conversation! If you're just starting out, I recommend trying a bit of everything to see what you like. Typically a UI or website design role will trend more analytical, while a brand or logo design role will be more abstract. You also have to take into account personality. If you want to do branding you'll have to work with founders meaning there is a lot of discovery and communication. If you go with a more technical role, you'll probably end up working with engineers on the product team and having a lot more "deep work" time. As for freelancing long-term, you can definitely do it! I know people who have been freelancers their whole lives. It just depends on what you want to do. No college degree is required. Though, I do recommend working at an agency or for another designer for at least a few years so you can learn the trade. I hope this helps!
I’m still scared tho as an artist
A.I. might be able to design, but it's cannot create. This is why we still need artist like yourself. What makes art impactful is the WHY behind the art. It's never the art itself. Only you can develop a meaningful reason behind your creation. The reason behind the art is where all of the value is. What kind of artist are you?
Well said
🙌 Thank you!
I’ve never seen a person that actually gave more than two shits about the mission of a company.
😂 That's the problem! I learned this from an entrepreneurial mentor of mine. He once haggled with me for 6 weeks over a mission statement. As he said, "Every word of the mission statement needs to inspire people. If we don't get this right, our business sets out on it's journey aimlessly."
Sir, please create more videos on graphic design principles. I watched your 'How to Use Contrast in Your Design' video, your explanation is very good.
Thank you for the compliment! I enjoy teaching design, but I've been transitioning to talk more about creativity as a pursuit rather than limiting myself to design based tutorials. Are there certain topics you're interested?
Okay sir, but please you’ll make videos on principles later, sir i have just started learning graphic design
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind!
How can i create the last grid ?
The last one is a bit complicated. My recommendation is to Google around for grid templates until you find ones you like!
OMG 2024 and I've just seen this. Needed a full refresher on Golden Ratio because it's been soo long since I did Graphic Design properly. , this video is worth watching and getting a subscribe!! Thanks very much
Thank you so much! Glad it was helpful!
it's a nice share. Go for it!
Thank you!
don't know how old this video is but it was on point it really cleared up a lot for me...👍👍👍👍
So glad you found value in it! Thanks for subscribing!
I used Calibri because I thought I had no choice. I got used to it, begrudgingly. I love Helvetica, still, I would be over the moon happy if I could use it seemlessly. I hate Aptos. I hope I get used to it since I am being forced to use it or add steps to my workflow that will become thousands and thousands of extra useless steps. Microsoft sucks. Hard. Why can't we have nice things?
😂 We should all just start using Helvetica everywhere all the time.
Damn that's so true
It's an odd trend isn't it? 🤔
@@jc_hardt yup
@hamza-chaudhry so what's your story? 👀
@@jc_hardt nothing interesting, just a university student studying computer science but with a creative side
See, your default answer was your career path. Not your story. You answered the question incorrectly. 🫣 Let me give you an example: I grew up in Kansas in a very structured environment, but I didn't fit that mold. I was curious and expressive. I learned from a young age, mostly through RPG games, that it was way more fun to live in a world I could create and be free in. As I got older I took that philosophy with me. I've never had a "real job." Instead, I create the world I want to play in. The reason this works is because it takes about the same amount of time as telling someone about your career path, but it provides context. Notice you still got the answer to the question you're really wondering, but now you know the WHY behind it. Telling your story opens the door for more interesting questions and conversations. 🙂
On a white background, at what point, if it ever does, does a 10x10px dot that has 50% opacity, that’s scaling up, ever have more visual prominence than a 10 x 10px 100% opacity black dot?
I don't know if there is a specific point, but try it out and you'll find a point at which the visual weight will change to the 50% opacity rectangle.
@@jc_hardt For example, if the body copy is 50% opacity and the first heading up from the body copy is 100% opacity, the opacity of the two should somehow affect the required difference in size. Does that make sense? Somehow normalizing the difference. If both the body copy and heading are 100% opacity, then the change in size would be greater, than if the body was 50% opacity. (Not taking weight into account)
Correct! I often get away with this trick to make my headings a bit smaller I will reduce the contrast of the body copy.
@@jc_hardtyep. There’s got to be some formal formula for it :)
Porque você tem sotaque brasileiro? 😆😆😆🤨
I do?? I have a lot of Brazilian friends 🤷
Researchers from Harvard University of tourism has recently done a research that if you go to Pakistan you can exponentially enhance your creative powers. Try it.
Pakistan huh? 🤔
Love this video.
Thank you!
I hate logo design, I don't know why lol. Love visual Branding, colors, fonts and pattern design
Same TBH... 👀
Something that "feels modern" will actually last less long, because a stronger appearance wears out faster. In a very important way, the less something sticks out, the more it will last.
This is very true, but I would argue this was Calibri's problem. It was designed to be "modern" but then became outdated quickly. The nice thing about Aptos is it takes inspiration from Helvetica, which has been established as a workhorse font for over 50 years and is still going strong.
Do you have any thoughts on the font in terms of inclusivity? Like when it comes to dyslexic people I hear that having really distinguished letters helps. Perhaps that’s a possible reason for the c and the e to be so different? What do you think?
Great question! Super important. Lexend was actually designed specifically to help with dyslexia. I believe the designer was also a reading therapist. Certain typefaces are easier than others, and we should lean into that when possible!
The guy with the mustash from 1800 tells me something about old Fashion, thanks KZread!
😂 I'm bringing the 'stache back!
8:51 Nice. But on a serious note, Aptos feels like a challenger to SF Pro from macOS.
💯💯💯
Six months after this video came out, I heard of Aptos for the first time. What an excellent introduction and primer! Can't believe it hasn't had more likes (42)!!
Appreciate the feedback!
Great video! Especially when it gets underway at 4:50. Kudos!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 💯
I can't wait until someone tries to pass a fake document from 10 years ago written in Aptos!
😂😂😂
I never thought I'd be learning layout from Groucho Marx
You're welcome 😆🥸
@@jc_hardtI'm glad you took that the way I meant it, cause I now realize it might come off as insulting.
😆 you're not the first KZread commenter to say such. I think it's funny.
Thank you very much, very clear and useful content!!! Here watching and learning from Guatemala!!!!
🙏🙏🙏
THANK YOU for this content!!! Watching from Guatemala!!!!
You're welcome! 💯
I think it's ca-LI-bri, not CA-li-bri? /kəˈliːbri/ is the pronunciation given on Wikipedia. (Still like your enthusiasm, regardless.)
😆👍
Whats wrong with Bierstadt? They could at least name it Warstein, Flensburg, Frankfurt, Einbeck usw. Also wasn't Aptos even more controvesial? btw. I like the one! It looks like European one. Would have liked to have seen a European 7 too!
I liked the name Bierstadt, but it's not the easiest thing to say 😅
@@jc_hardt Well , the fact that it means "beer city" would have been worth keeping alone. What is your take an Non-English 7 , you know the one that doesn't lack the vertical strike in the middle? It's kinda rare in typefaces.
I will keep to Arial, the squiggly lower case g always put me off calibri and will keep me away from aptos. It is just a strong personal preference.
Arial is a great font! 💯
It’s pronounced “app toss”
🤔🫡🤷🏽♂️
Man we got new default font before GTA VI

Anyone here do work on fiverr? Looking to have a logo created.
Would recommend searching on Fiverr or Upwork if you’re looking for an introductory logo. If you want to get something of a bit more quality, try searching Dribbble or Behance!
You are creating such high quality content for creators out there with so much insights. One of the best design channels right now. Absolutely amazing. Keep going 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much! New videos coming soon!
Never know im practicing it until you mention it in your video 😂😂.. also this video adding new knowledge to me 😊
Yay! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this
You’re welcome!
I’ve been trying really hard to like it, and it has grown on me a bit, but there are things that are not making it easy. I’m a heavy Excel user so Aptos Narrow is the variant I’ve been using most. But there are some really glaring issues with it that seem to be related to how it’s being rendered in Excel specifically. Numerals look absolutely horridly narrow and amateurish at 11pt, and completely different to either 10 or 12pt (at least in the desktop app - rendering seems to be different on the web). And the ‘1’ numeral just inexplicably received a bottom bar, similar to Calibri, making Narrow inconsistent with the rest of the family (but again, only in the desktop app, not on the web). I was concerned all this was related to rendering just being terrible on lower resolution displays (my laptop is 1080p), but I’ve had the same experience at 1440p. So I’m hoping these are teething problems and once they’ve stopped messing around with it, it’ll look more uniform and I’ll eventually just forget about it.
Great feedback! I haven’t tested it in Excel yet!
I like your videos, but the super frequent camera view shifts and constant body movement are so difficult to watch. Meant as constructive criticism. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! Noted! 🫡🙂
Excellent Brother 👌 Concept is clear but if you added some more examples( in size, weight ,fill, color, stype, and typography each section) ☺️ it will be nice or it would gives us a more ideas for understanding and applying contrast in our design work.
Thanks for the compliment! Noted!
4:51 How fitting.
😝
An example of an identity crisis.
👏👏👏
Even in 2023, I miss the previous design not just the logo but the overall can designs. The previous ones had so much personality e.g. A Pringles chip diving in sour cream and the such. The 2020 onwards design is so much more generic with no personality and charm of the original packaging. Also the new blocky font looks awful, the serif font was way better.
Agreed!
Great content
Thank you!
