I will say that, despite the narrative it’s supposed to tell, UTY did a much better geno run than Undertale

It's not a case of "hard = bad" It's more of a case of the difficulty being in it's attack patterns. Sans is difficult, yet his fight is pretty simple to sight-read and understand... Yet Zenith Martlet's problems are that her attack patterns are far harder to understand because you're paying attention to like 3 different things at once and it leads to an unbalanced fight. That's why they said "gameplay" and not "difficulty"
@@AzureIsTaken UHHHHHHHHHHHHH... wait, just hear me out, me beating Zenith Martlet EVERY week, without autoshoot, and i know what im talking about, and idk why u cant understand attack patterns, because... first phase is FULL of blind zones, and connected parts of attacks that so easy to notice, like use only CLOVER BLAST on first attack, and on two attacks after, use CLOVER BLAST at start, then immediately use dash, or just use dash after yellow wings appearing on seventh attack. And i founded all of this tricks in one hour
@@marsshaofficial I literally played through the entire fight and it took me like 8 hours... over 3 days. Not everyone is like you, not everyone is able to understand it as well as you can. I'm most likely guessing you HAVE played numerous Undertale fangames before... yet I've only played Undertale and Undertale Yellow. I was very overwhelmed trying to learn all the new attack patterns and struggled even after hundreds of attempts. You have to understand- a lot of casual Undertale fans are the ones playing this game, not just people who play mostly undertale fangames... which are MUCH MUCH harder than base Undertale.
Some of the attacks are just unfair, Sans' attacks are hard but not unfair.

I feel like Yellow is overrated. Heavily disagreed with people saying it's better than the original Undertale.
UTY is honestly a lot less crunchy and more polished. I imagine there's less spaghetti code aswell. Also, the sprint button and endgame fast travel. Overall despite el bailador and zenith martlet existing it's definitely a better game for me
The code is... significantly more spaghetti compared to UNDERTALE. I checked, and have to do so quite often for my current project. The polish thing is questionable as well due to the abundance of many small errors (Mainly bugs and fundamental flaws in the Engine.) that end up snowballing. The Damage Formula notably is made in such a way that you can go from getting two-shot by Axis (A Scenario impossible in UNDERTALE) to taking only 1 damage to him. Rather than counting every 5 points of defense rounded up like UNDERTALE to reduce damage... Yellow counts EVERY point of Defense in it's damage reduction. The mechanic where you take more damage based on your HP (Present in Waterfall onwards) is also absent, which further trivializes the game on Neutral. The game has to compensate for itself by cranking up the base damage Monsters deal, which is less than ideal especially on Pacifist. Martlet for example does 8 damage, which is comparable to Asgore's strongest attacks (UNDERTALE had different bullets use different damage values, usually depending on how hard they are to dodge), with the Monsters only getting stronger from there. If you want to run away from Encounters... The Patch is your only consistent option, since the flee formula is also broken. Unlike UNDERTALE... Yellow's odds of running away don't increase as the turns pass, making it annoying if you want to skip the mandatory encounters (Do you recall encountering every single random encounter in the game? Well... That's because they have static triggers for them placed all over.) I'd be here for a long time if I mentioned everything, but I hope these details were useful for getting a good idea of what's happening behind the curtains.

@@zaxentothegreedy7816 good points, never really thought of those considering i never even technically beat the game quitting on super sayan ceroba and then on vengeance martlet first encounter. Still, i doubt most of us would repeatedly play neutral like ever because those games are subjectively first and foremost story games
