  Maxace uses (used?) crap pouches like that. Having dozens and knowing how bad they are, i would always make a concerted effort to open it carefully but I'd still rip the tab off half the time. I hate the entire "providing a premium experience" concept, unboxing in general and i especially hate the infantile mindset that caused it to even become a thing. Edit: "now where was I? Oh yeah... Stay outta my booze"

  I had the same problem with a much cheaper knife. It turned out there was some metallic dustlike particles within the axial mechanism. I loosed up the axis and put the knife under running water. That fixed the issue.

  Aluminum anodization can definitely be done at home. Its really not any harder than titanium, it just takes longer. It also uses actual dye, so you can get literally any color.

  I think the idea behind the brass back-spacer is to create a balanced, stable feel in hand. (Without it, with a very light handle and heavy blade, the knife would be top-heavy, and the center of gravity would be well above the pivot).

  I'm a big fan of knives and these knives terrify me. I was working on an outlet, and the locking mechanism broke then it slammed on my finger almost cutting through bone.

  I think the brass backspacer would look good if the other accents matched. Screws, clip, spacers, studs should all match IMO.

  Careful with this one. I got the similar different model justice. Been nothing but problems. Horrible detent. Customer support was good and sent me a new liner. But the liner lock failed during the routine cut and almost lost my finger, three stitches and I'm still in recovery. Something is wrong with this knife... Sometimes the lock does not engage . Word of advice, Keep the pivot screw extremely tight on this one !! Don't let it loosen up, Even the slightest bit, You may not able to flip it open with one hand as easily, but at least you'll keep your hand.

  I can't really explain why, but that Launch 19 design is right up my alley. It no doubt has some odd lines but I would be all over it if it was maybe 80% of the size and like a liner or frame lock instead of the auto.
