The official KZread Channel of jazz pianist, composer, and visionary Dave Brubeck (6 December 1920 - 5 December 2012).
Dave Brubeck, designated a “Living Legend" by The Library of Congress, was one of the most active and popular musicians in both the jazz and classical worlds. With a career that spanned over six decades, his experiments in odd time signatures, improvised counterpoint, polyrhythm and polytonality remain hallmarks of innovation.

One of the very best of any genre in music,PERIOD.
Can we take a moment to talk about how gangsta Joe looks? 😂
RIP Cathy
都会の雨の昼下がりってイメージ。
Seriously the best 👌
I'm the last of the babyboomers... Oh how I wish I was older to experience this... Just some cool cats doing there thing. Love it
Ahhh music to my ears... Just perfect!
Paul was making love to that sax.
Besides the version of "Take Five" included on the "Time Out" LP (original first pressing, with a jacket autographed by two of Dave's sons, which I've played hundreds of times), I have listened to this live version several dozen times. Every time I do, I could swear that, starting around 3:15, I can hear the faintest of humming coming from Dave. Has anyone else noticed this? MarkT
beautiful
Fine jazz - classic, sexy ! The variety of instruments are interesting , and make up the music , each individual ! I love it !
Total Classic never fails to move me.
Ok pasukanku 😅👍
Sounds good listening 5/13/2024.🎹🥁
The best musical quartet of 1964 . For grown ups . No screaming teenage girls !
Interesting how Dave only playes his leads with his right hand, while his left hand is maintaining the foundational pattern!
I really like how Dave was watching Paul with so much appreciation while he was playing!
The look of Brubeck to Paul Desmond says everything!!!
Rick, I can't get enough of your talent(s)! You and I share an appreciation for music of many types. I too have enjoyed this sound for many years, maybe my having lived in Europe helped me to appreciate it. Keep it coming, brother.
I love you Joe Morello!!!
Still resonates 60 years later.
My absolute favorite.of all time.
Joe was a very talented violinist as well with the Boston Symphony.
Timeless classic.
A new case? The big score? The mother lode? The one you've been waiting for?
Sublime.
Why do most live versions run at a faster meter than the studio? The studio version sounds better (meter-wise) in my opinion
das ist schon sehr gut.
mesmerizing truly
The drummer looks like the bad guy in the movie Bullitt
Les premières notes créent l'accroche... après on s'ennuie...
Um comentário simples! Mas eu amo, instrumento de sopro. ❤❤❤
One of the best Drum solos ever. Joe Morello. Think he was legally blind?, or partially sighted
WOW what a treat 👏👏👏👏👏
That wasn’t a bad film colorization job. It didn’t have that purpley thing going on as bad as it usually does.
HOW KOOL!!!
Pity the colourisation can't tell the difference between a blue suit and a hardwood brown piano.
White boys slapping!!!
Always great to hear Take Five. Desmond is a delight, Morello a genius. It deserves to have the black and white visual as a tribute to when the Brubeck Quartet first featured Take Five. I'm sorry, but this colorized version doesn't enhance the experience at all.
Listen closely: Muss i denn, muss i denn zuhum Städtele hinaus, Städtele hinaus und nur du mein Schatz bleibst hier...
What mode is this? Fantastic,😺
🫀💪
Cool cats
It's so cool for this to be captured on film.
It's so cool for this to be captured on film.
Never gets old
For guys who looked like accountants, they really kicked it. Awesome video of Brubeck's solo.
