The Toolbox Initiative is a volunteer effort that collects tools, materials and cash donations from jewelers and other caring individuals in North America that are given to jewelers in West Africa. The emphasis is on personal contact among craftspeople; jewelers helping jewelers, hand to hand.

His work is exquisite!! This is so inspiring to me as I’ve only been studying jewelery making since the pandemic began. My father was teaching me and he believed you should be able to make beautiful jewelery with only the most basic tools of a hammer, an anvil, pliers and a saw. Thank you so much for making these films Mr Cheminee. I wonder what the ratio mix is if borax to water because I can’t get the pieces to stay still when I go to solder they always jump around, even when I let them dry in the borax/ water first.

Just found out about this through Rio Grande podcast, this is wonderful! :) I began trying jewelery recently. The feeling of creating something with very few tools is amazing. And giving those tools to ones that need them most really is amazing :)
