What happens to the blade when it hits rocks and stones?
@kenavram5586Ай бұрын
Would have been nice if he talked about some of the specs i.e. what was the size of the cylinder i.e. piston and bore, also, what size gas engine was on the unit that would drive the 35 ton log splitter, and what gpm was the pump.
@kenavram5586Ай бұрын
This was a terrible video. He should have kept the valves in the same direction so you could compare the input and output hoses. Instead he flipped it around so as to cause confusion and it was really confusing. Most log splitters have that mounted on the right had side close to the engine and pump. Then he starts saying A and B, what do those even mean?

The automatic lock on the GeoTrencher Cart cannot open due to vibration and holds the machine securely on the cart. The loose lock on the other two should urgently be locked additionally. With the earlier GeoRipper EZ-Karts, the machine jumped out of the holder a few times because the lock had opened

What is the ratio of horsepower needed per gallon per minute of hydraulic flow.
@tooltuffdirect5 ай бұрын
Here is your "Basic" formula: Hp = (q * P) / (1714 * Em) q = flow (gpm) P = pressure Em= pump efficiency Should also take elevation into consideration which could be around a 3% in engine reduction i.e. need more Hp at elevation. Hope that helps.

It's normal for it to foam up because of the design but it's not a good thing. Foamy hydraulic fluid is a bad thing! You will get excessive heat buildup, less pressure and will prematurely destroy hydraulic components. It's a poor design.
@naturewatcher75963 ай бұрын
Did you try to level it, or to put the wedge part a bit higher? It could solve the foaming problem.

Type of wood has more to do with what it takes to split wood than the diameter does. Do some different types of wood for us and show us what it takes to split them. I found it interesting to see what it took to split that round. I've been heating with wood over forty years and still enjoy it.

Totally agree. We did some Ash the other day that was maybe 16" in diameter and took about 14 tons. The wood yard down the road from us has some hardwood I'm going to grab and we also have some cotton wood. Stay tuned in the next few weeks 😊

I’m looking for a unit capable of running a hydraulic winch like they use on a roll back Recovery truck. Would one of your units handle something like that? Or how would I calculate the size unit I’d need to operate a hydraulic winch

Thanks for the video. Question: The top connection to the brush hog is designed to "float." I.e. to have a few inches of travel so that the implement can travel up and down over uneven ground. It appears that you have removed the floating upper connection point and attached directly to the mower. How would this actually work in a rough field environment?

With my NorthStar 37 Ton Splitter approximately 13 years old today I changed the oil and the recoil still locked after towing 17 miles …I drained the bowl of fuel….still locked ….I removed the pump a bit from the adaptor plate on the Honda GX 160 to put visegrips on the shaft to see if would turn …it did 1/4 turn then I hear a CLUNK in the engine …I did see the piston move a little to see if the crankshaft is okay….but it won’t go a full revolution and return to TDC…..thoughts …did road jostling break something inside?

I started My Northstar 37 Ton splitter at my house to check it …it ran normal …then I towed it 17 miles to my daughters home to do some work and the Honda GX 160 appears seized….I cannot pull it over …..it’s never done this …..could the pump cause this if something vibrated during the towing? The engine has oil and a low shutdown feature so I’m baffled ….the pump is original to the splitter 2010 purchase……any thoughts?
@tooltuffdirect Жыл бұрын
It's an engine issue. It can happen if you tow the engine without shutting off the fuel. Fuel fills the crank case from all the bouncing, jiggles the float in the carb, everything in the fuel tank ends up in the oil sump. You could wait a day and it may be okay. The best thing to do would be check the carb to make sure the float is working properly. Drain the oil and put new oil in. Should be good to go.

Funny you should say that, you know your stuff. TrencherPro is a copy of the Geo Ripper, not denying that. But did you know that Geo Ripper is a copy of the Geo Trencher? We are a reseller of Geo Trencher so you know where to get the original mini-trencher from :) US website is about to launch any day. Geo Ripper is a rip off! We have tested our chain and Geo Rippers chain side by side and ours performs the same at half the price.
