Sande's Poema - Creative Inspiration & Training

Hi! Welcome to Sande's Poema! My name is Sande Woodson, and I love to encourage and inspire people to reach out and bless others. My passion has always been teaching, and I have been a teacher for more than 50 years

When I retired and started card making a few years ago, I went through the Altenew Educator Certification Program and became a Certified Altenew Educator. In 2021, I had the honor of being named the ALTENEW EDUATOR OF THE YEAR! But, I have encountered some medical challenges that have caused me to change my focus from physical cards to the digital world... so my latest tutorials focus on using digital resources to enhance your card making.

If you don't see yourself, as a "digital" card maker, don't dismiss the idea too quickly! My students tell me that I have an ability to "connect the dots" and make complicated concepts understandable. I hope that I can help you grow in your confidence as a creator, and as a person who can touch other people through their crafting.

Sandie, I have just watched your video on making E cards open and close like real paper cards. I’m very interested in learning this process, so, will you please help me get started. Here is a list of equipment and tools I have to work with, to give you an idea of what I can and what I cannot use to create these cards. I have a Cricut explore3 machine, a HP Printer, an Apple 2 Pencil, an iPad Pro iPad, the app procreate, several pens to use with the Cricut explore. Here’s what I need from you. Do I need to buy “procreate dreams” to help make these cards? Is there a free version of canvas that will work to make the cards just like you did? Do I need to buy the app “Hey zine and do you know the link where to buy it?. Is there anything I didn’t mention, that you need to tell me about? I know this is a lot, but I really do appreciate your time and effort! You may contact me at. [email protected]. Again thanks, so much, Lonn

Sande, you are amazing! I first "met" you at the Card Maker Success Summit earlier this year. Not only do you go to so much trouble for us, but you also explain things so well. Yep-- "educator" comes through loud and clear! You have a wonderful voice for teaching. It's very smooth and with just the right amount of inflection. I could listen to you all day. As an RN, I'm concerned for the health challenges you mention and hope you practice good self-care. Thank you so very much for all your hard work. ~Mary

I've really enjoyed and learned a lot from your Canva card series. Thanks so much for your time and attention to detail. I'm trying to figure out how to design and print greeting cards, in Canva, for sale. The first video of this series, with the section on guides, is the closest I've come to figuring out how to make and print two A2 size cards on a sheet of letter size card stock. I'm concerned there might be too much white space on the original guide, would you suggest I adjust the values to be a bit smaller to make a design larger and fit the A2 card size better? Thanks again for the tutorials.

Hi ~ the guides I provided are for printing 4 card panels that are 3.75 x 5" (to mount as a front panel on an A2 4.25x5.5" card, leaving a 1/4" border all around. The problem with a full A2 card is that if you lay the 4 cards out, they take up the entire 8.5 x 11" sheet of cardstock, and since most printers will take a .2 (approx) inch margin on the outside edges, it doesn't work. Of course, there are so many printers out there... so you're in luck if yours has a setting to print all the way to the edge of the paper. If not, you have to lay them out with a lot of white space (and extra cardstock). Those are really your only choices: use the smaller front panels (with a border), have a printer that prints all the way to the edge, or have extra cardstock. Let me know if I can help in any other way! 💗
