Fun with Drilling Engineering
Fun with Drilling Engineering
Drilling for oil, gas or geothermal heat is much more exciting than you would expect! On our channel „Fun with Drilling Engineering“ we want to introduce you to the fascinating world of Drilling Engineering. Our Tecnical University Bergakademie Freiberg offers the program „Geotechnics and Mining“, where the students can specialize in Petroleum Engineering.
Usually we teach in German. Here you will find the original clips in the original language:

Hi. i really like the way you explain things. If I may request a topic, can you cover the mechanism of "bit walk"? you did mention it in one of your video, but I think I need a more in-depth coverage of the topic. Thank you in advance!
Thank You Prof. Dr. Matthias Reich. This video answered my questions. So, Thank You very Much.
I Love Jonna Napire 💜💚❤️ JUNE 12, 2024
I want to follow your videos, but I don't understand them because they are in German. Please also write the articles in English.
Well, we ARE here in the English channel, aren´t we? So what exactly is the problem? Please help. Thanks. :-)
@@funwithdrillingengineering7649 Thank you for your reply, I would appreciate it if you could write the text in the video in English😊
@@drillbabydrill21 I see. But that will be a lot of extra effort. The current english episodes are translations from our German youtube channel "Spaß mit Tiefbohrtechnik". I would have to rework all slides for a full English version. Let me think about it.
Why annular preventer on top when rig up
You ask why the annular preventer is found on the top end of the preventer stack? Well... You only use the annular preventer, if the other preventers (rams) cannot be used. Therefore seen from the borehole the kick will first arrive at the Rams, and then at the annular preventer. Does that answer your question? Best regards!
Unfortunately the slides are not in English
Good coiled tiubing
thank you
Thanks❤❤❤
Супер!!!😊
Video about shock sub
fascinating.
Good 👍
Hwo about anular preventer
Great job!
Why don't the doctors at my university explain like this?💔

God bless you for enlightening us with your knowledge 🎉
Great voiceover! Love it.
Quite an insightful enlightenment!
nice
So nice
thanks for the lecture. it really educative
Hi sir, from where we can get drilling tools such as you used in your videoes : drilling bits, mud motor, drill pipe ... etc. ? If there are any online website avaliable for that, kindely tell me.
Honestly didn’t know this because I’ve only seen TDS systems, good video
I have been working as an engineer for the Canadian MWD Planet system and also from HALLIBURTON for four years. very interesting materials, such as tungsten carbide and various complex metal alloys. It’s a pity that they won’t send me to training in the countries that produce these systems. I sit and degrade, and the years go by.

where do you get these models of drill string?
How can I get a model of the motor and bit
oh, that is quite difficult! I get them from the manufacturers - but just, as I am a professor at the university. But you may try! ;-) Some companies may be able to send you a file for a 3-d printer. Then you just need to find somebody to print it out for you. Good luck!
Now that makes a lot of sense. Thank you Professor.
good
you have explained it really well. even a kid can understand this. Thank you. @ Prof. Dr. Matthias Reich.
This is awesome
Thanks a lot!
Do you perhaps have a Instagram page?
Yes! spassmittiefbohrtechnik. But it is in German...
Good job with the voice over
This is awesome

congratulations! you are the first video i've seen that does a good job explaining how horizontal and curved drilling is accomplished. you could mention that on some bits, u-joints help with the curve.
Where can I get one of those bits and motors I work on a drilling rig and would like to show the hands on the rigs
thanks for answering my question
Sir can we possible place the cyclone at an angle ? Instad of vertical as normal ?
Bravo
u helped me thank u
Great and Easy Explanation
The fluid which is pumped inside the coiled tubing to remove sand which is between the normal tubing and the coiled tubing. is it a completion fluid or what type of fluid used to remove that sand
Excellent explanation. Thank you!
