Using my overland taco rig, I towed my camper that has a dry weight of 4400lbs and when loaded it’s probably around 5200lbs…it drove great. I had no issues but lately I’ve been thinking about adding some airbags, better bump stops and changing the rear shocks to some 2.5 smooth body shocks with DCAs to just improve the overall ride quality. I don’t tow it all the time. I have it parked for months on end then when I start a new project elsewhere, I then move it. Am I dumb for having all this weight when I do tow it?

Great video. One question about running the cable through the conduit. on my car (23'), the body side of the conduit (hidden unless you pull the conduit out from the body frame) is actually with reduced size and the existing wires already fill it full. so I can't run the camera cable through it. it seems to me that you can easily run your wires thought it. Did you cut a hole on the conduit (body side)? could I cut a small hole for the cable? any negative impact if there is a hole (will be hidden on the body side. thanks

Why do people qoute dry weight. If you’re going camping with an empty trailer stay home. Always go GVWR weight. My guess is you’re well over your 500 lbs tongue weight limit. That trailer looks far too big for a small truck like that. Please do your own research and don’t guess on weights. Towing capacity is the most irrelevant number. What is the benefit of these over other far-cheaper running boards? What is it about these that makes them worth the price?
@Victory4x419 күн бұрын
The main benefit to Sliders over standard running boards is the element of armor. Sliders can withstand tremendous forces and support the weight of the vehicle as it slides over rock obstacles, protecting the vulnerable rocker panel area from damage while navigating offroad obstacles. Your average running board style step will crumple instead of providing any protection.
