I've been a Bruins fan since 1972. I barely remember the cup victory that yr. But, many tears have fallen especially as a kid through the late 70s. So close so many times. This cup run was awesome. Knocking out the Canadiens, payback against the Flyers, an exciting game 7 against win against 2:04:41 Tampa, and winning the cup game 7 in Canada.

1:10:36 and 1:11:05 - look at all the Canucks players watching the guy carrying the puck. And then Richardson slides into position surrounded by Canucks and he still scores. And when the puck goes into the crease the Canucks have absolutely no fight in them. Awful defense by Vancouver. And then on the winning goal (1:41:52), Pahlsson heads to the bench for a change, sees the play broken up, and continues towards the bench. Makes you realize why Boston beat them in 2011 and LA beat them in 5 games in 2012. In 2012, it looks like these guys gave up on each other.

I miss this NHL so much. I'm also not afraid to admit I miss John Ziegler as NHL President when you look at who replaced him and who has ruined the league by greed, endless rule changes, and relocating teams and expanding into markets where they don't belong...namely Arizona.

I still can't believe the Flyers lost this series. If they won, they would have went on to win the Stanley Cup. So frustrating as a Flyer fan that this era never won a cup.

Also insane to see how vastly different Roy played during the beginning of his career. He was more like a hybrid but with a lot of stand-up tendencies goalie then. A lot of pad stacking from him here also.

It really blows me that all those younger NHL fans claims that "old-Time" hockey were so slow. That's 100% untrue. This is a lot more energetic and aggressively fast than the current NHL, every shift/puck were a war. A current NHL referee had stopped the game for every stift and giving out 3-5 penalties then. No current NHL player had survived this game.
