    Thanks, my cars are mostly shelf queens, i may test run the Honda City in future. However, the Audi is not a runner due to its wide wheels, the bodyshell wheel arches need to be cut bigger in order to make it run.

    @@KT-ol1sw the Honda city can turn its steering like normal. It can be driven. However, the Audi can’t turn due to the small front wheel arch. I wouldn’t cut the Audi’s body to make it work. But its possible. Once cut, there’s no going back.. It’s just a fun wheel swap. Cheers.

    I started RC car from TT-01 around 17 years ago, in 2007, then expanded my collection with M03, F103GT, TA05, FF02, DF03Ra, FF01, DT-02, and so on... so did not expect to see any of them seeing here. But surprisingly, I saw some familiality with Number 32, which equipped a rounded Ni-Cd battery! The most surprise was that actually I had Number 88! Never saw that it turned out to be the oldest of all my collection (never in 1 of the first 100!)😂 I kind of retired from RC for ten years and sold most of my RC cars, but since March 2024 I came back and play RC cars intensively again nowadays. Now I have Traxxas, 3racing, Yokomo, Team Associated and WLToys too, but Tamiya stays my favorite RC manufacturer as ever. One of the latest Tamiya collections are MF01-X and BT-01. I appreciate Tamiya keeps producing facinating lineups and new chasses. Cannot wait to see more! Thanks for the upload mate!

    Thanks for the memories! I still have an 80's Grasshopper new in the box. Had the Frog, Porsche "Racing" (Rothmans) 956, and the Porsche 959. We sold all of the Tamiya R/C cars @ Bobbye Hall's Hobby House in Dallas, Tx. Built many for customers. First r/c car was an Associated R/C 12E '79. Raced a 12i, then the "Import Killer"- the R/C 10! Tamiya is great quality but they have done some funky, overly engineered things...it's part of their charm 🙂

However, what I have realised is that this car cannot be complete without a top deck (belt skipping and, much worse, after a front crash at medium speed, the chassis broke!). I went for the whole carbon chassis + parts but that's only because the chassis was broken.

    Awesome job. This is the re-release that Tamiya should have done as it doesn't look right with the lunchbox ride height and little wheels. One thing I don't think you mentioned is that the battery goes on the back and the old batteries that this was designed for were shorter than the standard stick pack of the later models. You can get shorty lipo packs that would fit on that back shelf. Anyway top work on the conversion 👍👍

  • @RC-168
    @RC-1682 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the comment, you are right I didn’t mention the battery placement. The rear end/shelf of the chassis is designed for the old hardcase tamiya 6v or 7.2v humpback batteries. Hence the tool box molded hump on the rear bodyshell itself. The standard 7.2v stick packs will not fit the chassis though. At the moment, i’m using a 7.4v 2s lipo and it’s small enough to fit anywhere in the chassis.
