    I’ve got an air to air in my bedroom, wall mounted unit. Simple to use, it has silent mode for nights (around 30DB) and it runs slowly with minimal cycles. Then can choose between low, medium and fast for when it’s hotter or the sun is on my room. Then it has High power mode which is 30 mins of all systems running at full wack. It’s an inverter unit with outdoor temp settings. Getting a COP of 3.8 on cooling according to its stats. I’m not even an engineer just interested in the best way to use it. Most units move the louvers to the best setting by standard these days. Good video gents.

    I would be interested in what research has been done to help get as much warm air into the heat pump rather than just take normal air. By this I mean possibly siting the heat pump in a warmer area in sun. If there was an ventilation system installed in a house that had exhausts to the outside air without any heat exchanger would there be a benefit in funneling the waste air/heat from the house towards or into the main intake of the heat pump? Would it impact the SCOP at all?

    This video could be a life saver as this issue is driving me crazy! Just got a new Worcester Greenstar 4000 30KW combi boiler. This was fitted with an ESI ESRTP4RF+ wireless thermostat. Temperatures can fluctuate up to 2 degrees oC above and below the target temperature and device is slow to react to room heat changes. I'm either freezing cold or boiling hot! Can this boiler use modulation and which thermostat would you recommend, please? (Sorry if you've already mentioned this model, but there are 100s of comments to search through!). Property wise, it's a 3 bedroom, terrace house, outside walls are more east / west than north / south. Thank you.

    Is your unit an inverter though? I’ve got a 12,000 btu DC inverter system, runs at 34db on quiet mode and similar with the outside unit. It’s very good at holding a steady temp. I had fluctuations with a standard unit before.

    The timing for the looming collapse has just accelerated now that Trumps going to win according to all the polls trumps chances to win just jumped to 70÷ percent since the shooting . Less restrictions on pollution and toxins in water means more money for the richest oil and gas companies means cheaper gas prices means more usage = more co2 = more heating = more weather related disasters. Right now half way though the year the USA had 50 billon dollors worth of disasters

    I find that with the thought of getting a system installed frustrating, there seems to be many hurdles to even get a company to do a quote. I'm an octopus customer and went on line on the octopus site signed in done the quote just to get told I need a EPC to get the grant help. Was sent over to the EPC assesor site, tried to get in touch with 15 of the people on the list and only one came back saying he doesn't do domestic even though it says it on the website and the other wanted to charge £300 for one. I can see why people don't want and are put off instaling these systems when the system just seems overcomplicated and broken.

    You are stuck in outdated technology. The combi boiler does not require water tank. Why the UK go backwards. Other countries use the electric boilers in the last 50 years. Most of the houses in the UK are not designed for water tanks. The Net Zero is the biggest scam in the UK. Expensive to buy and install complex and expensive to maintain, plus need a lot of space. Reinventing the wheel bring us nowhere. With your product you just add more electricity consumption.

    I bought a set of 3 for my last house. Put them on a 1200 x 600 K2. Getting a heat pump in my new house so interested to know how much these improve the output of a radiator. Can I just compare the temp difference across the radiator before and after installing them to work this out? Let me know if you want results. Set of 3 is approx £100, and might be cheaper than upgrading radiator sizes in some cases or may limit your overall upgrade costs.

    The solar power is restricted in the offering, one size fits nobody. I liked the gear but the inability to have a power backup during a power disruption from fallen trees and other causes of grid failure. They only gave a take it or leave it, then dropped the main supplying company and moved to Enphase, another excellent producer but once again only get what is offered not what you need.

    Air to Air inverter heat pumps do not suffer from the pump switching on and off noise change and they make much less noise when not running at full power.

    I believe CTC and others have had this concept for ages, meaning the heat pump is heating the cylinder and dhw is made on the fly using a coil. Had one in my house earlier, CTC EcoEl.

    Can't believe that Daikin don't supply a user manual/guide for these; at leasy I couldn't find one. My step Daughter has just bought a new build with ASHP and it has the Daikin controller, she couldn't understand why her downstairs rads didn't warm, at first quick glance it looked like it was app controlled. Still haven't quite sussed it out but this and some other videos have been incredibly helpful.

    I'm thinking to put the monobloc heatpump INSIDE a 400 m3 glasshouse, with only the fan side blowing outside. The glasshouse is also where the ventilation system exhaust bad air from inside the house (800m3/h) . It's a passive house with 6kwh heatpump+underfloor hearing running 24/7 - so nowhere close to maximum power/airflow. If there's not enough airflow I can always leave a small window cracked in the glasshouse. Was thinking during the sunny days the COP should be significantly better and less (or no) defrosting. Do you think it'd work?

    2 - 4pm is also our peak solar energy production time so we are storing excess electricity as hot water. Only had the system since last week but we seem to be importing no more electricity than we did before the installation plus we are not using gas for hot water and not paying the standing charge.

    I have just had a Daikin heat pump fitted and am amazed at how complicated it is even to just get basic temperature settings right. I mean who is going to want to talk about graph curves etc. Surely a simple ECO mode etc would be better for most people. If I showed this video to friends and family they would be unlikely to follow our example

    What happens when a heat pump manufacturer produces a heatpump with a defect affecting efficiency, such as the Vaillant energy integral counting bug in firmware V351.06.07 - Are either of you going to hold them to account when they refuse to fix it? Vaillant has fobbed me off, saying they don't consider it an issue even though they've fixed it in a later firmware version. (Which requires an expensive board replacement) Heat Geek doesn't appear to care either, telling me it's not their problem and that I should contact Vaillant. Octopus, do you care enough about efficiency to use your size to force manufacturers such as Vaillant to put their game and stand behind their products, including when there are software issues? Lots of words are being said about wanting to drive change, but let's see you both hold manufacturers to account.

  • @HeatGeek
    @HeatGeek18 күн бұрын

    Any jobs through us we take full responsibility of regardless of the manufacturer. We contractually hold ourselves responsible. If you have used someone trained by us but not run the job through us we can’t really do anything about the works they do outside of our ecosystem..

  • @yngndrw.
    @yngndrw.18 күн бұрын

    @@HeatGeek But this goes beyond contractual responsibility, this is about reputational damage to the industry. When we have large, top-tier manufacturers shirking their responsibilities and knowingly producing products with out-of-spec software which cannot be easily updated and that negatively affects efficiency, in an industry which has enough nay-sayers about reliability, complexity and efficiency - They are causing reputational damage which affects you and the environmental action you are pursuing regardless of who has installed it. Due to your size, you are in a small group of organisations that are in a position to hold manufacturers such as Vaillant to account, to demand better from them. Individual installers are not in the position you are, by standing up you're helping all of your installers by ensuring they have products which the manufacturers themselves will stand behind. Pushing back against this sloppy product support benefits the consumer, it benefits you as a business within the industry, it benefits the industry as a whole and it benefits the environment - Whether there's a contractual obligation to help or not. So why wouldn't you push them to support their products? Will you still support the use of their products, knowing that Vailliant won't stand behind their own products? PS: Will you be replacing the control board of every HeatGeek Assured Vaillant install with an affected firmware version proactively, or will you only do so if a customer notices? This kind of question is why it directly affects you as a business.
