I dont know where else to ask, trying to find a game that we had, most likely on playstation. It was racing, where you could travel up walls and down the other side with out crashing, it was space like.

Okay, we got a couple with track builders, which is a huge plus. But now we need one with a machine builder of some kind. Easily my favorite feature in any racing game, especially GX

Hi, I’m new to the Chanel after playing f-zero gx and you have just sold me on the omega collection, I’m waiting for it to download now I just wonder ... I absolutely loved wipeout, wipeout 2097 and wip3out and played them so so much but then didn’t Sony lose the developers and I tried another wipeout after that, which I assume will be on on this collection and it felt `off’ which put me off any new ones since the og 3 you say they are better than the originals by psygonsis? I guess I was mistaken I hope so 😊

Ok after I have looked into this a bit more it seems there have been a few more wipeouts than I thought so I hadn’t played these ones until now and I’m loving them so thanks 🙏

I'm very happy to hear you've found my channel! All the games in Wipeout Omega Collection were originally developed by Studio Liverpool, formerly known as Psygnosis. However, Sony decided to shut down the studio so the specific ports in Omega Collection are done by other developers. Sony still owns the Wipeout IP so we'll see what happens in the future.

Well, I guess 2048 was regarded as more sci-fi back in 2012 :) At least it looks less futuristic than Wipeout HD at least thanks to the present-era design of all buildings on the tracks. And yes, I agree with you, it's a truly awesome racing game!

This is my favorite game. I found it in the PS Plus games list earlier and I love it. This beats all the games for me.. Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Doom.. Redout 2 wins for me. I'm almost 42 years old and it's like a modern version of F-Zero which I loved on SNES. This will never get deleted from my hard drive. I bought all the packs for it already.

I did some more testing to figure out the crash in Slipstream 5000… it’s not the bridge on the London circuit that causes the crash, it’s attempting to deploy mines that causes it. So far, it has only happened to me on London, I haven’t reproduced it yet anywhere else. Also, DethKarz: turns out the GoG and Steam versions are identical (except the GoG version comes with the manual). In order to get modern controllers and high resolutions working reliably, what you actually need to do is run the game with dgVoodoo 2.

I was researching minimum hardware requirements for modern triple A games & a GTX 960 meets the minimum for some of them. I think Deathgrip could be optimised to run on a 960 & still look good.

Hey, Erik! First off - congrats with your new PC! When I saw the specs I was a little iffy (seeing as how my own PC is quite a bit newer), but when I heard the price... $150 is practically a steal, so you got a really good deal on this one! Hope you enjoy it! About the performance on Deathgrip: it's definitely a beefy game that hasn't been optimized terribly much yet. This will happen later, however. But yeah, it does indeed require at least a GTX 1080 ti if you want to play it somewhat properly on lower quality levels. The only areas where even high-spec PC's lag are areas where a lot of assets load in, though Brian is looking into this. Hope you can enjoy the game somewhat soon! As for BallisticNG: The devs put a new physics mode in the game that got a lot more meat on its' bones with the latest few updates. Supposedly it's meant to feel more like the later WipEout games. Have you tried it out? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks a lot for your lengthy comment. It was unfortunate that Deathgrip wasn’t playable but other than that, I’m very happy with the PC considering the price. I’ve heard about the new BNG mode that was released recently, making a video about it is a great idea!

Oh, maybe you should back everything up, because that hard drive is probably old AF and gonna die soon. Getting an SSD for a boot drive might not be a bad idea either, it’ll improve performance significantly.

Congrats! Not a bad PC at all especially for indies, and at $150 I'd upgrade the ssd first, cpu and gpu are still passable. Upgrading either of those may require a new motherboard and power supply as well Looking forward to more pc content!

Don’t forget to review “get REKTorized”, but remember to clarify: - It’s currently free - It’s still in development - It’s made by literally one guy - It’s brutally unforgiving on purpose - It focuses more on total chaos than on racing - The campaign is full of riddles Be completely honest in your criticism. I must also warn you that the level “DDoS” in Chapter 3 of the campaign will freeze repeatedly. That’s on purpose, as it turns out, there’s nothing wrong with your computer. (I was actually pretty angry when I found this out the hard way, hence this warning.)

@@AGRacingCentral There’s also Slipstream 5000. It was an aircraft racing game for MS-DOS, released a few months before WipEout. The game is available for a couple bucks on Steam, running in DOSBOX. According to the manual, the aircraft do use antigravity technology to stay airborne while motionless, but besides that they seem to be conventional aircraft. Just a warning: avoid going under the bridge on the London circuit. Every time I’ve done so, the game crashed. Go over it instead.

The tricky thing about the PC is that the motherboard will preclude most new hardware other than video cards (and then you'd need to worry about power draw). A solid state drive would be nice to have, even just to put the operating system on it, that'd have a significant effect on how fast the PC is in a day-to-day sense.

  • @AGRacingCentral

Thanks a lot, good points. I'm really not a computer wiz but that's my understanding as well. I might invest in an SSD but more likely, I'll sell this rig when the time is right and buy an entirely new, slightly better, one.
