I love this show so much. And I just figured it out. It’s fast. It’s smart. It’s funny when you don’t expect it to be, and the characters are so damned loveable. And there is so much joy and kindness and respect in every one of them. Reminds of the last place I worked at before I retired. It gives me hope that this can be a better world. Thank you, Mr Sorkin. There nothing as satisfying as machine gun fast, smart as hell dialogue. Watching those old 1930’s comedies on TV kinda set the bar pretty high.

There’s something about Stockard Channing that’s always reminded me of another actress, and I’ve never put my finger on it until now: she has a somewhat similar facial structure to Elizabeth Montgomery’s, I think. Her cheekbones and eyebrows, chiefly. Of course both have large, expressive eyes. And Channing has similarly precise diction.
