I don't know about his history, but Hanson's knowledge of ICBM defense is non-existent. Any attempt to deploy what we have would easily -derisively easily - be overwhelmed by so many incoming warheads - and decoys. So yes, Sir, we could be easily destroyed. Post war governance (if any) would be at the warlord level, as in (for instance) Afghanistan. See how easily we fixed that.

Whenever we measure anything in everyday life the measurement has an implied starting point or boundry for the dimensions. What exactly are the boundaries for quantum measurement?

Its one thing to understand how others think its another to teach marxism as a program of study in our educational institutions. Explains a lot. These so called colleges should not receive a dime of taxpayer dollars teaching these stupid kids to destroy our country, their own country ffs. Stop being pathetic losers constantly looking for a way out of having to be productive and take care of your own self. What an embarrassment.

I find it amazing that we still reference Heisenberg, Dirac and Schrödinger when these issues are discussed, there seems to have been no real progress in the fundamentals of quantum mechanics for a hundred years.

The almost unanimous acceptance that Bohr's thinking that the QM is beyond fundamental understanding is, in principle, not possible is wrong and therefore we should "shutup and calculate" only, should be rejected - knowingly or unknowingly, David Chalmers is playing the same role with the "Hard problem of consciousness " in the area of understanding of consciousness and learning from our previous mistake, should be strongly rejected. And because we are doing the same mistake of blindly accepting the dogma of "Hard problem of consciousness", we should reject it in ever stronger terms. BTW David Chalmers as it was mentioned by Robinson, still sites Eugene Wigner and his idea about the role of consciousness in collapse of QM wave function, tell us that David is cherry picking. Eugene Wigner later decanter that viewpoint. Someone should tell David.

The UN Mr Sachs is never going to solve ANY conflict in our world. They pick and choose conflict based on political biases. Especially the many conflicts in Africa….define apartheid and genocide Prof. or do we have 2 definitions. I know deep down you can do better. Shame. Fortunately we will have these videos to look back on….

The greatest danger arises when a society can only define itself in the context of its perceived enemies. Rather than always resorting to patriotism, intelligent analysis needs to factor in the probability that the Russians and Chinese would be entirely benign were it not for the continuous warmongering threats and extreme propaganda emanating from the West. Try standing on their side of the fence and seeing it from their side. The Russians were not interested in the Ukraine until the West engineered a pro west coup and NATO threatened to push move right up to Russia's borders. The Chinese had no interest in a military conquest of Taiwan until the USA started meddling in Taiwanese affairs to promote "democracy" (anti China policy) in schools and government. The greatest danger is not foreign armies. It is our own dysfunctional behavior arising from our cultural decay.

If America does not wake up soon we are going to see things that we are not going to want to see occurring more or less everywhere every day we're going to see violence At Levels we have never seen. Laws are there because they do a multitude of things that save lives helps with us in our government and our every day lives. Law and Order are so totally important to any successful Society and People's security it's all locked up in those papers that Literally Millions have Died to protect it and its People's lives. God Bless our great Country and its Beautiful People

What a damn silly question. "Do you view any historians as legitimate who do take the opposite position to yours." If he did even the first bit of research on the man, he would have seen that Morris's work is seen as controversial among Israelis for the "excessive" time spent digging up the truth on Israeli massacres. Now he is here representing the pro Israeli side, because he doesn't believe his whole country should be murdered. Just an absurd world we live in.

About living in a simulation ? i don't know , but do scientists currently understand how to go from quantum mechanics to classical mechanics ? if yes THEN, the "simulation" question becomes basically irrelevant for all intends and purposes, but if not, then.... maybe the simulation proposal is the answer to that problem ? Why basically "refuse" to look at it ? The smaller we go the more we see "information" and "math" and "projections" : string "theory" , quantum entanglement an wave-function collapse ? Somehow these things are not compatible with the reality we see around us. But they do magically "generate" our reality somehow ? And conveniently, only the parts of our reality that are "observed" get generated ? How would you be able to NOT define that as an optimization ?

Another cerebral observation by VDH! Some of it is obvious, but it is presented in a way that stimulates ones thought processes. History is important in that our species are mere copies of our ancestors. So much damage has been done by the poor administrations in America, the Vietnam era forward that I think it irredeamable! Like the Titanic, we've seen the iceberg too late, the ship of state isn't agile enough to avoid it, & the crew is too haughty, & incompetant to save the day!
