    Ray is a prince of rock! I imagine how Calling All Stations would be with Phil Collins, but I love it as it is, and I like very much when Ray sings old songs of Genesis and of Phil Collins'e solo🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

    That’s cool how Gary is playing the electronic beat on real drums!

    There is also a 12 minute version lurking the internet. Beware. It's called commitment.

    I do believe this is the source for a popular vinyl bootleg in the early 80's . My older brother picked one up in Detroit. The bass is insane on this track. Many wicked hidden 1/32 runs. Nearly zero , body posturing with greatest of ease. I think this video is the very best performance of this song. Even with the crispy highs. Somehow bring it life. 🎸🥁🎸🎹🥁

    Other than the tapping, I’m really intrigued with that picking Hackett did in the middle part where his guitar part comes in

    Listening to this again. Watch a guy on YT ranking Genesis albums worst to first. This album faired better than i thought. But seriously can you not acknowledge that this song is a tour de force of this line up.

    Great post. Had never heard this song live before. I saw them four times, never heard them do anything but "Follow You, Follow Me" from that album. And that was a really terrific album, a hint of their progressive past and a sample of the more commercial period to follow, a great bridge period. Thanks so much for posting this.

    Best version of this medley, I think. Always loved the organized chaos at around 2:17. Wished I could have seen the mirrors in person. By the way, is the audio from Houston?

    Sounds much better with a complete ending. Seriously, would it have hurt the band to keep the last 15-20 seconds in on the 3x3 release? I've always hated fadeouts.

    This is the only upload I've found that has what I'm pretty sure is the original intended order. Most put Naminau as the opener and close with submarine, but in interviews Tony Banks said that the "trailing pieces" were cut off the album, meaning both Naminau and Submarine must have come after dodo/lurker.

  • @illegalalien2
    @illegalalien217 күн бұрын

    Honestly, both variants or theories might be true. What if Submarine was a longer instrumental section between Dodo and Lurker? Maybe those were always separate and not meant as a complete song, but having them flow together was attempted? Hard to say.
