Ray is a prince of rock! I imagine how Calling All Stations would be with Phil Collins, but I love it as it is, and I like very much when Ray sings old songs of Genesis and of Phil Collins'e solo🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
That’s cool how Gary is playing the electronic beat on real drums!
There is also a 12 minute version lurking the internet. Beware. It's called commitment.
I do believe this is the source for a popular vinyl bootleg in the early 80's . My older brother picked one up in Detroit. The bass is insane on this track. Many wicked hidden 1/32 runs. Nearly zero , body posturing with greatest of ease. I think this video is the very best performance of this song. Even with the crispy highs. Somehow bring it life. 🎸🥁🎸🎹🥁
isnt there full thing off some airplane hanger rehersal?
Mike Rutherford... most underrated bass player in rock? The guy is amazing.
I was there. Unforgettable
Is he trying to copy Paul young? That was the first song that Paul y. Sang with the mechanics. .i still miss him. Rip.
Vive le prog ! Merci genesis d exister !
J aime trop c est prog et c est cool ça me fait planer...
Other than the tapping, I’m really intrigued with that picking Hackett did in the middle part where his guitar part comes in
Una curiosidad. Actualmente esta es la unica vez que Genesis toco en vivo este gran y infravalorado tema
They got it!
After....ALL THESE YEARS......I STILL WONDER....WHAT IS A "PAPERLATE"?!? 🤔🤪😁
what a man
❤️ForGenesis
Listening to this again. Watch a guy on YT ranking Genesis albums worst to first. This album faired better than i thought. But seriously can you not acknowledge that this song is a tour de force of this line up.
Anyone who doesnt think Phil Collins is a bad ass drummer needs to FFW to 7:39. The man was on fire right here!
This band is a musical machine
Great post. Had never heard this song live before. I saw them four times, never heard them do anything but "Follow You, Follow Me" from that album. And that was a really terrific album, a hint of their progressive past and a sample of the more commercial period to follow, a great bridge period. Thanks so much for posting this.
Don't hate on me, I'm here bc of Ghost. I didn't know that this was a Genesis song originally, Love them both!
Jesus Christ lives FOREVER
I love this, this is Phil at his absolute mocking best and it's so good to watch. While this was the band's swansong really, it's great to hear.
GOOSEBUMPS!!!! THIS was my battlecry as a 14 year old when this song first came out! FANTASTIC live rendition!!!!! WOWZA!
Thank you.. as no other live performance of this 🙂
I just read he hated playing this song live and it made him leave Genesis
Excellent
Greatest Band ever !
Best version of this medley, I think. Always loved the organized chaos at around 2:17. Wished I could have seen the mirrors in person. By the way, is the audio from Houston?
Yes, audio is from Houston! :)
As an American male who grew up during the 80s. He was sooo right. It was Bullshit. They preached one thing and did another thing.
FnA 💖
Sounds much better with a complete ending. Seriously, would it have hurt the band to keep the last 15-20 seconds in on the 3x3 release? I've always hated fadeouts.
Espetacular e atual.
super Robin 😅✊ fantastic Genesis 🎊❤️🔥
This is the only upload I've found that has what I'm pretty sure is the original intended order. Most put Naminau as the opener and close with submarine, but in interviews Tony Banks said that the "trailing pieces" were cut off the album, meaning both Naminau and Submarine must have come after dodo/lurker.
Honestly, both variants or theories might be true. What if Submarine was a longer instrumental section between Dodo and Lurker? Maybe those were always separate and not meant as a complete song, but having them flow together was attempted? Hard to say.
Apoteosico como todo lo que ha hecho Genesis en su epoca...discos que aguantan bien el paso del tiempo ⏲️ entretenidos y totales...😊🎉🎉❤
This is one special man. He has a great voice, style and presence
fantastic drum solo, phil woulda been proud of that
wow, the sound is really good!
💃💃🕺💃💃🕺💃💃🕺💃💃🕺💃💃🕺👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love this. Brings back so many memories!!!
❤️
Two guitars and no bass?
Amazing song love this rework
I saw over 100 bands from 1970 - 1990 and Genesis is tied with Pink Floyd for the best ever concert. Saw them both twice and was an experience I'll never forget! ✌️
i wish i can witness this alive
They were amazing
Masterful
Gabriel at this age was totally androgynous.
Banks is a true Master of the keyboards. No one even close to his skill as a performer or composer.
