imo the best fps prior to Halo CE. And if I had to choose between them, I'd have a hard time deciding. And it has to be the PC version. The console versions of QII just don't compare. Much credit to the late Jennell (Paul) Jacquays for the incredible level designs *and* the story. Okay, I'd give this the edge over Halo. Probably. There are just so many secrets, so much depth, so much atmosphere. Plus unlike Halo, you can turn the music off, and you don't get caught by checkpoints all the time. Besides, without this game, where would we be? Don't like this version tho. Too colorful, too busy, too flashy.

It's been a good while since I watched the intro, and I never really understood most of the dialogue u til now. The whole thing gives me chills. The music, the sound design, cinematography, the pacing. It's all so well done.

i didnt like the eartly dos version and quake 2, no map and too many items to find. it became a wall seeking game. i played quake 2 remake version up to maybe 30% and i gave up due to boredom. id or raven if you were able to made DOS version game like shadow caster, then you could make and include more user friendly interfaces and maps. i like to shoot and not having lost my ways all the time

C.T.U.2017-V1 is not playable on gzdoom 4.1.3! Performance is very poor on Ryzen 2700x with gtx1070 and 16 gb ram. Heavy lags and hangs make this unplayable at all. Don´t waste your time with this shit mod. Thanks for nothing.

I downloaded this mod from the moddb website but when I try to run it I just get a gray screen for a few seconds and then it crashes. Is there a fix for this?

They need to release the first 2 Quake games on modern consoles. I don't care if it's remastered(although that would be SWEET). I have the Xbox 360 port but it lacks console commands. Thus, the Hard+ mode is inaccessible. Could you imagine how amazing these games would look and sound remastered????

Quake 2 was the game that made me fall in love with FPS. I remember my first lan party with my mates like it was yesterday. We laughed all night long and had great fun. LIkewise when Unreal was released, Half-life deathmatch and all the different versions of CS when it was a mod :)
