Little Kodaks

Little Kodaks

Information channel on some of the iconic Kodak cameras from the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's. I'll have a big focus on the Kodak Instamatic cameras using the 126 film cartridges. I'll try to give information about the cameras and show some restoration work too. Hope you enjoy.

Hello, my gran recently passed away and she had this camera. Do you have a link to the film adaptor or can I use 35mm film?

Not sure if you are still active on this video clip. I happened to find it since buying one of these Kodak worlds fair camera. I have actually bought two. Both flashes do not work though and can’t figure out why. Hoping to see if you had any advice. Thank you.

I acquired one from my mother in law, it was her parents. I was tinkering around with it. It still has film in it! Great video! Helped me function it without a hassle. Thank you.

Hey, I got a roll for my 1920 box camera and I realised it’s meant for loading on the left side, can I place it upside down? Or are the perforations only one side

I love these late 127 cameras. Have the Fiesta and Fiesta R4, as well the "off brand" Imperial Satellite. The final evolution of the box camera before 126 killed them all off.

FYI: 126 cameras were produced until 1988, Kodak 126 film was produced until 1999 and 126 film in general was produced until 2007, the last manufacturer being Ferrania (Italy) which went out of business in 2012. Fortunately they got things going again in 2014 and are producing 4 different types of black and whit felm by now, the plan is to make color film (print/reversal) and also in dead formats like 126.

Small pedantic note: the 30s is not “early 1900s.” The 30s is early-to-mid *20th century.* Even 1907 isn’t early 1900s. Early 1900s would be 1900-1904, maybe 05. Giving the full number implies a decade, for example: me, born in 2007: I was not born in the early 2000s, I was born in the late 2000s. Early 21st century.

I've been thinking about buying one of these, and your video told me what I need to know. It looks like a great camera, but with no option for a flash attachment I think I'll have to pass on it. Sigh.

If you still have the is camera, can you take a pic of the battery contacts inside the battery compartment for me? And pm that to me? I think one of the contacts are either broken off or missing on my 300. Thanks Julie

Had a model 304 for many years until the shutter failed. Took it apart and was somewhat disappointed by the very simple plastic lens. I recently purchased a functioning 404 in a thrift store; presumably the same specs as the 304 except for the interesting wind-up film advance.

116 was introduced by Kodak in 1899 not 1930’s and was actually one of the very first roll films Kodak produced. There are a couple of places that spool 116 film but it’s expensive. I use the No. 2 Kodak which takes 120.

Perfectly in character. I love it. But it seems so weird that this aired when I was only 5. When I was watching it in the 70s it was already well into re-runs.

The Kodak Instamatic 44 was the first camera I ever bought when I was 10 years old in 1970. It was the start of a hobby that has gotten out of control. I'm retired now and I have way too much photographic equipment and still buying more. Even with a whole bunch of professional DSLR bodies and lenses, the little Kodak 44 has a special place in my heart.

I don't know if it would lock into place like the nissin flash, but another alternative is the vivitar 118. It has a wire bracket the clipped around the body of 110 cameras.
