For the distributive property practice ( where you show the work and answers ) c is -2 (x - 5) + 1 =8 but in the answers slide is says -2 (x - 5) + 1 =9, I'm not sure which one to do

How do i do this when i can't find a common denominator for 5,8,12
@yourmathtutorvids2 ай бұрын
That one is tricky! You can try listing out the factors for each of the numbers and you’ll get that the smallest common factor across all three numbers is 120: 5: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, … 120 8: 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, …. 120 12: 12, 24, 36, 48, 50, … 120 One trick is to notice that 24 is the smallest common multiple of 8 and 12. You can multiply 24 by 5 (the third denominator) and you also get 120.

i was so confused as well she didnt explain that you change the pi symbol into 3.14 then you plug it into the calculator and round. honestly pissed me off so much because i kept plugging in the pi symbol and kept getting syntax error. i figured out that you can still use the pi symbol if you want if you do it like this: 80/360(2 x π x 6) and you get the same answer. dont add spaces i did it to show it better and i used the same numbers from number 1 at 3:19. hope this helps buddy

This video shows that we're not bad at math, our professors are bad at teaching. I have been stressed for over a week bc I didn't understand this. Less than 2 minutes in and I understand this perfectly and solved the equation I've been stuck on. This proves the professors are the problem, our education quality matches our healthcare. We need to hold our professors responsible with 2/3 of their class are lost. I am SO grateful for todays technology, if I had to rely on my professor I would have FAILED

It’s a placeholder for when you set up the problem. For example at 3:20 in the video, the problem has a term with x^3, x^2, but not x^1. To set up the problem correctly, you need a placeholder for that x^1 value. (Note that 0*x = 0 so we are not changing the value of anything)
