G'day,
We are Shannon and Lisa, with our daughters Jessica and Chloe and our cat Bonnie 🐾
We travelled through every state in Australia in a vintage Winnebago motorhome, completing two whole laps of this wonderful country, whilst we home schooled our kids and grew as a family. We absolutely loved it! Time to reflect
Life. Love. Laughs....and some luck!🤞. What more is there 🤷♂️

You guys helped inspire us to buy another van, and more specifically, visit Kakadu and Crocodile Dundee filming locations. Which I will do on my 50th. But just remember, the kids will move out and you will do it all again. Another thinning out of more stuff. That’s where we are at. Hope you keep posting, and thank you.
@@ottoswinebar that's why we won't sell Winnie 🚌 You just never know what will happen
You made me cry!! Feeling all the same feels after our lap. Can’t wait to catch up again!
@@melissamilner3604 you know only too well the feeling. Yes can’t wait to catch up too 🩷
I was there at Mary Kathleen and I was climbing one of the rocks that the miners drill a hole through the rocks, great job guys!
@@jurassiccreations58 cheers 🍻
It’s a truck with a camper body on it Plenty of old trucks up at the cape Can’t see why you wouldn’t Yes it was going to be hard on it The cape is a bit like going to the supermarket You go around all the attractions and keep seeing the same people So if anyone gets into trouble you feel like you know them and should help You covered some great points
@@nzmarkb8713 cheers Mark 🍻
Mate, you are the best at these vlogs, and your editing and camera work is top notch, but lying down in front of that train to get that passing shot is totally beyond the call of duty! Remember...safety first! Keep it up, I would watch you paint a fence!

What sets Camp Winni apart from the others. It's the poetic way you deliver our Australia accompanied by a spectacular visual harmonies choir.
@@ellenhumby745 I love that! That is truly what I try and do
Wallerawang NSW near Lithgow is one of the few that is actually free just turn up with what you got no bookings...it's dog friendly with off leash park electric BBQs kids play area a lake with fresh water fishing close to national parks and scenic drives and amenities that have plumbed toilets and hot showers....don't expect 5 star but for free camping it's up there....P.S if you don't like the cold don't go winter and maybe avoid long weekends but even then you will still find a patch to set up....I'm a local and it's never been so full that you can't find a spot with lake views....
Great video....ive been planning my lap with the intentions of finding my home my happy place sounds like a dream im hoping that the stars align that i find the place, meaning and purpose that i just click with a new start....so maybe i wont complete the lap....was there any place you found yourselves difficult to part with....that is my hope....the fear i face is leaving the stability of a house but whats the point if thats all it is and have nothing else and always left wondering whats out there....when i go i wont return well that is the plan....I guess thats the difference between a trip and a journey for me its all about soul searching finding my belonging....being in my 40s totally dissatisfied i guess ive hit mid life crisis early...obviously ill be rolling solo lucky for me thats all i have to worry about i am a truckie ill pick up work when required to fund myself also check out new areas getting paid on the job.
Forgot to comment after watching the other night. Great summary...reminds me that my old 1985 diesel Landcruiser has been there too...before I bought it. 👍

Traveling is like drugs for a drug addict..Sooner or later you will return to traveling, because you miss it.Listening to you and observing you, I see that you are really depressed and you are living on in the thoughts of the journey.😅😅😅
Yes indeed. Common story actually 😔
Good to see you again. Great tips here. Its on my bucket list. Might get there one day while I still can.
"Bugger off and leave the sign alone!". Ha!, love it! You tell 'em Lisa. Nice little Dad joke there too Shan... As always guys, just straight talkin', down-to-earth advice. Well done.👍
See you up there then? 😁 🤣
Hey guys, just discovered your channel as we are about to start the big lap in 2 weeks!!! Going to watch all your adventures to get some ideas 😊 we also film so understand how much work goes into the vids 😉 you guys come across so genuine and a pleasure to watch 😊
Hey! Glad you found us! We've just subscribed to your channel 😀 . Very excited for you both about your big Aussie lap!
Sunday morning surprise helpful video! Thanks guys! It’s almost July 4th here in the states and Maxi our motorhome is still winterized! Not sure Let’sGo motorhomes would like us heading up to the tip in one of their rigs so we have to enjoy it through Camp Winnie videos. ❤
🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇦🇺 🚌 👨👩👧👧🐈⬛
One day 🙏
👍
You've sold me. I saw a video a while back from a lady (I can't remember her channel) who drove to the tip in a Hyundai excel (I think). She got a few km's from the sign before she hit a river crossing that was probably a bit much for the Hyundai. Now I've seen your videos too, I'm going to give it a go in my Sprinter van next time I'm over that way.
Have fun! 👍
Great seeing you both again, your info is so valuable & much appreciated.
Thanks mate 👍
Very informative. Starting to question wether we'd bother going to the tip on our trip 🤔
Hmmm. Maybe live it vicariously through us 😉
Another great episode. We arrive in Cairns a few weeks ago with our 6 month old Fiat Motor Home from Melbourne. The wife suggested that we go to the tip. After watching this we are staying put.
Ha ha yeah I must admit, it's pretty hard going 😉
Mr Camp Winnie You and your mates should arrange an epic bike trip to the Cape. Lots of great tracks, swimming holes, waterfalls...with your commentary it would be a classic, and besides......camping with snakes, eight legged dinner plates and snapping handbags...ah I can see it already......lol
Sounds like you have got me all sorted out 😁 🤣
Good to see you guys again, Sally and I will watch this later. Best wishes from Tropical Robertson 😊
Cheers mate 👍
Yeah i came back and its been about 16 years now and every day since i returned back from out there i have thought of being back doing it again and i mean every day , I'm re preparing to eventually go again but this time the only way im coming back is when i am finally in my last years . Thanks for the insight and people like you are what i miss being out there.
My only thing to add to this wonderful clip would be place names in the top left corner. Thanks for sharing.
Spectacular drone work 🤩🚐love your work 😊we’re about to embark on lap #1
Enjoy! It's absolutely magical ✨️
Watched in 2024.
Still very much here in 2024 😃
it is amazing what is in our own backyard. I live in south Barossa valley, so I am between Adelaide hills. I forget what is around me. But others love it. I like you are doing shorter trips around you
We absolutely loved the Adelaide Hills ❤️
Wow, one of the best. You are bloody good. How much fuel do you use compared to a 4x4 and caravan set up?.
We averaged 15 litres per 100kms of diesel. Maybe pushed up to 18 when the going got really rough. Pretty impressive for an old girl
When you are in a campground with no designated spot for a few days ore more and you want to do some exploring in your motorhome but want to come back to that campground, do you leave something in you spot to let people know you are coming back to that spot later that day. Maybe a small sign, etc?
Yes that’s exactly what we have done, we’ve gone out for the day and left either our camp chairs and table. We’ve never had anything taken. If you're worried, just leave an old camp chair or two. And let your fellow campers who are near you that you are coming back.
*Krys the Crocodile. The Savannah King* 🐊
I think Krys the 🐊 was the largest crocodile ever caught?
@@campwinnietravellingaustralia *Few speculations, recorded or not recorded one is Krys the Croc 28 feet. Other during times before humans; 40 feet weigh nearly 8 tonnes. Also Lolong 20 feet 3 inches.*
Amazingly, I just found your channel about a month ago, watching a lot of your travells now.I felt a need to thank you so very much for sharing your travelling lifestyle. Maybe when you feel the need to escape the rat race you two may want to travel and show us all hows its done once again cheers
It was our pleasure 🙏☺️. Thanks for the privilege to have it up on KZread for people just like you to appreciate it
I love seeking out those old historic country pubs. My mate and I have done a few trips like that but in 4WDs not bikes and generally seeking cabins or basic pub accommodation for the night. Its good to get away with the lads occasionally.
I absolutely love it!!
Hi guys, We have only just discovered your channel and now see what we have missed. We have just returned from 13 months on the road in our bus and loved every minute of it. If you are ever in the Mary Valley you always have a home base here for a few days in beautiful downtown Amamoor. Kind regards, Glen and Di
Hey, welcome aboard! 😆 Thanks for commenting, and we are so glad that you found the magic out there ✨️
Great to see you out there. Have you ever considered working in the RV industry. Involved with tag alongs or courses that help people who RV or want to. You would get your fix while working at the same time. Those jobs are out there. Or something similar. If the great outdoors is your passion then try to get off the rat wheel. Others are doing it. I’am not preaching just trying to help. You have so many skills that would be valued. You are mechanically minded, have lots of experience and can create video content as well.
I'm honestly very flattered by your words! Well, yes I do love the whole RV and travelling industry that's for sure! Who knows what the future holds hey?
Sorry I did laugh at you in the rut. Been there done that. Af
😅🤣
Another quality video. Ok, next. :)
Thanks for watching 👀
And the video of the week goes to.............This One...........I love it when you take us with you Shannon. Really well done mate. Never stop riding.
Mick, thank you, glad you enjoyed this one 👍 Yes, I'll ride until I can no longer
What a great video 😁thanks for sharing your knowledge what a priceless gift 👌🏼🙏
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching 📺 👀
Body I I don't know anybody find the talent on you and your voice. You will be perfect voice reading story about adventures travel. 1 Aboriginal man his voice has been for telling story about travel his voice is nothing like your voice. You are very calm very steady soft and very trustee. You should apply for the job in the radio station using your background voice to telling story about travel Australia. I find when you travel. The happiness smile from you face disepeir . Start looking for new career you will be the man advertising the company who produced and selling your brand of you motorhome. Must be some way or someone who will put you on the right job 👍🤔
Well, I don't think I've ever been told that. Lol, but thank you 😊 🙏
I get the distict impression that Mr Camp Winnie is an honerable man, I don't think a Corporate gig would be his thing.........lol.......just saying.?.....
@letsgo2510 ha ha yes, you've been watching! Soul destroying cooperate worlds are not where I am. We are all born from nature, and soon enough, we ALL return there! Gotta love it
Ground Hog Day can be soul crushing. Awesome to get out on the road when you can, let your wings free 👍
Absolutely mate! Slavery was never REALLY abolished, it was just modernised 😔
Surprise Sunday Breakfast video! Yeah the rat wheel for sure. Was this adventure done all in a three day weekend? The Bridle Path Track looked cool but I think I’m more of a 4x4 kinda adventurer. Did you keep track of your mileage on this trip?
I didn't track the miles, I guess I kinda got lost among it
Great adventure darl! 😁👍🏁🏍️ I missed out on Barrington Tops because it was like zero degrees at the time, so it’s still on my hit list! Absolutely loved the Bridle trail and Mark & I went all the way through even though that last section was closed…it was epic and I love that trail so much. Yep, nothing like riding soaking wet & freezing cold 🥶 so it’s time to invest in some lightweight compact wet weather outers that’s easy to chuck on and easy to take off. You’ll find a fishing shop does great thin waterproof pants as their wide legs are super easy to get on & off over the boots. Look forward to where your next adventure takes you. Big hello to all the riders in your posse! 😂👍🏁 It’s always an adventure buddy…carry on! 😁🙏🏁🏍️
Ha ha thanks Roz! From one adventurer to another 🙏
Tough tracks, closed pubs, packet meals, bad weather?...I'm in! Ride on. Top stuff mate.👍
You know you want to right?
This is great content, certainly thought provoking. Onwards and upwards, and hopefully you all can post some more great content in the future.
Cheers Matt 🍻
Absolutely fantastic
Thank you 🙏
Awesome; I was just wondering earlier if you'd have a video tonight 👍❤️
Hope you enjoyed it!
Very much so mate; I loved the vlog style!👍👍
Hi guys Heart felt moment, i feel for you both so much, i was just thinking about you the other day wondering how you were all doing. Thanks so much for sharing this heartfelt moment. Love too ya all 💖 Love To you All
Thanks mate 👍 yeah not really much I can say hey 🤷♂️
We tried free camping in NZ it’s a nightmare! Free camping has become a total no-no in NZ, full of toilet paper, discarded rubbish, people with MH issues, so we quickly gave up on that idea…
That's such a shame to hear
I wonder what’s the difference between MH lovers and those who can’t get on with it at all like us. I love the idea of the freedom but both times we’ve tried it in NZ for a few months we’ve hated it! So what’s the trick to making it fun?
Well, I guess I might ask first: what did you hate about motorhoming around NZ? Like anything in life, this isn't for everybody....BUT, if you can lend yourself to it, and become truly immersed in it, then it can really change your views on almost everything in your life
@@campwinnietravellingaustralia the bed wasn’t comfy so we both became sleep deprived, the sites were very variable, it’s very dependent on who parks up next to you. You can’t park up in town. Site shower blocks were horrible. The drive quality was poor- roads were rough and the power to weight ratio wasn’t great. We got back problems from driving position plus a bad bed. We also got quite lonely as we’d meet people just passing through… Compared to a big trip around WA in a comfortable SUV using Airbnb it was so much better… so what did we get wrong in our MH adventures?
