I was thinking about this, but they told me it couldn't be done. This is nice.Where is the radiator fitting at
997 RS already more valuable than the 991 RS here in the states
Thank you! 😊
The brakes is what makes a Porsche. And the cornering. And the control. And the dependability. And the beauty.
kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIqcp5J-XZfVc8Y.html this is my blue 964, I wrote the song for the car
I love what they’ve done…! 🫡🫡🫡
A friend of mine looks after one of these for a very well heeled customer. I was in one day and showed me the 🚗 black with 1900 miles 😮😮😮😮
If you cropped a photo of that “push to start” button and asked me what car it was, I would reply “every new car in the world” In my opinion, Porsche killed an iconic feature. Secondly , I may get used to the vertical flaps on the front, though it feels like a Mercedes GT wanna be grille.
Got to lucky to could order the last production of the cayman GTS 4.0 so happy with the performance and sound. Electric car have no soul
You said nothing.
Great insight I know exactly which one I want now. For me, I elect the gin 2.
@9WERKSTV Good car detailing, may I know if it's ok for you to review our foam cannon S V3.0?Thanks in advance!
Wow
I've also fitted the PCCM, partly after watching your fitting video (helped convince me), I love it, well worth the money IMHO. I couldn't resist then adding new speakers all round, 6 focals and I've a Bose bass box to add too, it already sounds amazing even without it! I've a function-first gear shifter, engine mounts and short shifter kit to go on next! Also, have you thought of going for a valved exhaust? I think that's going to be next on my list :)
“The chicken was still warm”
I wish they could bring these back
993 GT2R for me please
718 Spyder is better than any 911 on the road
Wrong seats though... heated 18- ways are the way to go
Bought a 2023 992.1 c2s in gt silver with Sports Design front and rear. Came with quad tailpipes with Sports Tailpipes in silver. No irritating PSE. Best looking 911 inside and out, wide body and all. Wish only dash came with more digital gauges like the 991.2 and less digital.
Blew a chance to get a red 912 for either 6500 or 8500 I can't remember about 15 years ago, thinking about selling my 72 Cuda clone and 2001 Boxster and getting a 912 or 912e.
Total Productions all GTS models from 11/2010 to July 2012 is (1500) USA plus (150) to Canada for North America. I have the 2012 4GTS coupe with 6-speed (w/GT2 factory short shifter) which was only made from 11/11 to 7/12, 4GTS Coups for USA total was (271) total of which (95) were manual. It's got plenty of power for the street. Only thing that would have been better is if a rev match was available, otherwise, its perfect and Im not selling yet, have 32K miles..
The latest issue of Total 911 arrived this morning. I hadn’t read it before but as I just bought my 996 I thought I’d have a read. I instantly recognised the green 996 on the first page! I had no idea you are the editor at large! Excellent magazine by the way 👊🏻
Thanks Lee looks like I need to rethink how I clean my interior in the future.
996 porsche is a silent but evident tribute to miura :)
His complaints are some of my favorite parts. The wide body, the recessed door handles, etc. are some of my favorite design elements. The 992.1 is the best looking of the modern 911’s to me. I love mine!
Can you turn off auto blip to rev match yourself?
Thanks to my awesome Porsche salesperson, I'm fortunate to have gone all in on my 2024 718 GTS 4.0 in November '23. Waiting any longer would have meant slim chances of seizing the opportunity to obtain a brand-new one.
They have drank the climate coolaid and created a massively complicated frankencar. Porsche management is fully woke and can’t wait to force their customers into an EV. All this results in huge upcharges in price to both pay for all the green technology but also to pay for all the losses on the EV side;like the crap called Taycan. Customer don’t want any of this in a new 911 but it’s being shoved don’t our throats and making us pay the price. Btw, the weigh gain is a lie; once you put the back seat in the car and normal glass is about twice the cited figure. Quite typical of the greens that have no issues with deceiving the public to further their schemes. I hope the trims using EV kit flop, but perhaps they’ve brainwashed enough “Progressive Youngsters” (Porsche’s actual name for their target market) to buy them up.
480000 euro excluding VAT and donor car 😮 Too bad these restomods are so expensive. It would be nice if someone would do a ‘light’ restomod for a more affordable sum. Would also keep more things original because now you’re almost building an entirely new car.
Overweight, over sized, odd styling with childish details,, too much unnecessary tech…
You have never driven one then
@@simonsays911 I’ve had Porsche’s since the 90’s. Currently on a 996 but always looking for my next one, but it won’t be an overweight hog. Puts me in a better position than you to comment
So basically as I said you’ve never driven one 😂
Fuel EVAP sensor?
Replace the ICV. Mine seemed fine until I vacuum tested it when it was hot. Tiny, vacuum releasing cracks appeared throughout! I used one from a BMW Z3. I tested it, and it's identical.
Majestic! 👌
Well happy 40th Edition Lee and can't wait on the details on it 😁.
I seem to remember that the owner of the TAG group “Street” (#2 in your list) ordered a McLaren F1 in the same colour… 😍😍😍
Hey Lee, Did you get to the bottom of this? IIRC on 964 there was a copper braided strap from gearbox/starter to chassis... if not connected 100% or in poor condition...this causes the hot start issue. Not sure if 996 has the same set up? Good Luck...been there myself...expensive and frustrating!!
Perfect ❤
Did the clean help with indentations in the seats and remove the scuffs on the plastic sill covers?
I believe the GTS won't be having a manual version due to the hybridisation, which is a shame as the manual GTS has been the pick of the non gt range since it's inception om 997.2. The Carrera should get a manual. I believe the Carrera S wasn't launched 1st as they wanted the hybrid model to get the headlines, as GTS is the top carrera model it makes sense that it gets the added hybrid power, I guess the s will come later.
i appreciate my 997.2 more as i see the new models, bulkier, digital clusters and now hybrid, pass tyvm
Left foot braking is quicker - good for congested conditions and narrow big city side streets, where I now keep the brake pedal covered / ready. I was jerky at first and then just as smooth after 2 weeks.
The GTS was always my favorite Porsche it was the everyday AWD driver that was faster than the GT3 in a straight line that GTS will be missed.🧠🤯🔫
Hello Lee, check all the electric cables/contacts related to ignition system. Also the battery , be sure that has enough Amps . I have seen similar behavior (interruption without a fast deductible reason... (on BMW)) the owner checked everything and later discovered that the battery was not ok, despite being replaced not to long ago
Great work but you nailed it on the T being the most underrated modern Porsche. Every point was spot on. This is your Sistine Chapel. Bravo and thank you for covering something less obvious where everyone else is focused on the same thing and also for representing those of us that appreciate simpler, smaller more focused sportscars!! Thank you!
Gts has the base chassis. Not turbo. You probably mean spring rates are from the turbo if you keep spasm
987 Boxster S, owned for eights years, never missed a beat and handled like it was on rails. Now I have a low milage two owner 996 gen2 Carrera. Paid 24k for it and its awesome, done some tweaks to it suspension wise with a fast road setup, it covers ground at an astonishing rate. Absolutely unbelievable value for money. Its a keeper.
Any recommendations on restoring a 718 Boxster roof? I am struggling to get the balance of cleaning the roof properly without damaging it.
Good one on the interior maintenance and schedule with the proper products.
Hey Lee. What’s the deal with the non airbag steering wheel? Do you have to refit the original with airbag for the MOT?
