    Weird video. Where are the results?

    Possibly a dumb question, but is there a particular part of the day or night that's more effective for applying this kind of product? For example, would using it in the evening give the spores more time to take hold while the soil retained moisture for longer, or would using it in the morning help by supplying more warmth throughout the day, or does it really not matter?

    Hi, If you see this, does the 1 tsp per 1 gallon of water still apply if you bottom water?

  • @webenbanu
    @webenbanu2 ай бұрын

    I don't work for Big Foot Microbes, but I would expect that it would. The point is just to get the spores down to where the roots are, so bottom watering would probably be a very effective way of doing that.

    Can the powder be put in a hose end sprayer to cover a larger area? If so, how do I figure out how much?

    I guess if my miracle grow thingy does 40 gallons in 10 minutes, I should put 13 tablespoons in the reservoir and squirt for 10 min and call it good? I guess it can’t hurt to try.

    Does it not continue to live in the soil once applied and colonized in the roots? Why the need for reapplication every 2-3 weeks?

  • @danmecum7648
    @danmecum76488 ай бұрын

    In theory yes. But if you are working with a short growing period for seasonal plants, you will want to maximize your coverage. No mycorrhizal products colonize at 100% or anywhere near that number. So, reapplying it, will increase colonization rates. Lets say youre planting an apple tree, one application would suffice because you'll have more than a few months to get a complete symbiotic bond. But if youre growing a season crop, applying 2-3 times is a good amount to get the most out of the product without breaking the bank. Hope that helps.

    @@danmecum7648 Thanks for the answer, that makes a lot of sense. Do the mycorrhizae spore and go dormant when the host plant dies and the root is left in the soil? I know they need a living root to bond with.

  • @danmecum7648
    @danmecum76488 ай бұрын

    @@robclower9606 That is correct. The mycorrhizal plant will release spores into the soil for which it grew in. It isn't a super efficient way of inoculating your next plants, but in theory it could be done. Its a whole lot easier to just plant your next seed or small plant with mycorrhizae during transplant, and then you ensure the plant is correctly inoculated. Mycorrhizae is awesome, and I'm happy youre so interested in it!

    @@danmecum7648 I'm grateful to be talking with someone so knowledgeable about it! Does the mycorrhizae colonize at a rate comparable to the rate in which roots grow or does it not keep up with the plant growth quite as well?

    @@danmecum7648 Thank you so much for explaining this, because I was wondering the same thing! I just had my three raised beds assessed for their soil creature communities and I have almost no fungi! I just got my bag of the water-in inoculant today and I'm looking forward to applying it as soon as possible!

    What would the gold best be used for

  • @bigfootmicrobes
    @bigfootmicrobes3 жыл бұрын

    Broly, The gold is very diverse in that it can be applied direct to root, watered in, sprinkled in the hole, used as a cube soak, etc. It is used on endomycorrhizal loving plants like fruits, veggies, herbs, flowers, turf etc. It does not form a bond with plants like oaks and conifers. if you have any questions, please email [email protected]
