    You have saved me. I had another pattern but the directions are almost identical. My instructions started each bobble stitch and FASTENED off on each one. It made no sense to me and was so unwieldy. So much so that I gave up and was making individual bobble stitches and tying them into the tentacle. It was such a mess. Also when I tried to fix it by carrying the yarn instead, I was left with those two stitches on the bobble stitch.........there were no instructions to push the stitch from behind.......and it works marvelously. Now I can carry and push those bobbles up. Thank you so much.

    So lets just say... that i made one of the tentacles on the body part alittle longer about maybe 10 stiches to long... and its just one of them. I tend to loose track very easily.... Could i possibly just needle stitch it on that one tentacle and not go down all the way to the tip of the tentacle. Do you think it would still turn out right??

    Love it so far. However, I am almost at the end of making my second panel and think the pattern needs revision in regards to the Pima Cotton Yarn and the yardage needed. Bought 6 originally and realized this yarn is 157yds not 189yds. Sounds small but I am going to need 9 balls total instead of six to have enough for sewing and the belt.

  • @offthebeatenhook
    @offthebeatenhookАй бұрын

    Thanks for letting me know! I wonder if they changed the yardage since I originally designed this. I'll definitely look into it and make the necessary changes to the pattern!

    I’m making the cover up. I’m don’t understand rows 4-17. What do the numbers in parentheses mean? I’m making a medium so I’m looking at #41 in the medium size. I thought it was just crochet rows according to the pictures. Thank you

  • @samanthagray4316
    @samanthagray4316Ай бұрын

    I’m currently making the extra small and it looks like for the medium you should do the repeat for rows 4-25. The 41 is for the 3xl size.

    I've never tried this before, but if you do, you would probably just want to skip the middle ch when joining each direction. You want the same number of stitches in each vertical join row (versus one row using 2 of the chains, and the other direction using the 1 left over). I hope that makes sense!

    Great tutorial! For consistency, I would start seaming the sleeves from the other direction, since when worn, what is “vertical” in the pattern layout will be “horizontal” and vice versa. 😊

    Round 11 of the beak and underside of the ARMS says to make 13 bobbles. I have ripped and reripped my stitches, only to figure out on my calculator that 70/5 = 14. Maybe it's a typo, because I just watched the video again, and you do say 14 bobbles. I absolutely love this octopus and can't wait for it to be complete 😊

    So I've found the written pattern and I decided to do it in a chunky wool instead of a dk 😂 before taking in to consideration the size.. so it's like 3x the size it should be and I'm on my third ball of wool and I'm still not finished the top half.... when will this end. Im mot looking forward to the bobble stitch 😂

    Thanks for the pattern and for the video tutorial. For me it was a bit big, so I decreased a little, instead of 66, I stayed at 48 stiches, and the same way I decreased the other parts as well. It's not done yet, I'm currently on the last round of the upper part. At the tip of the tentacles do I need to add a chain or I just go on?
