I started cutting my own hair after a botched curly dry cut in 2021. I realized I could do better than most of the $100 cuts I was paying for. Then last winter, I decided to start growing my hair out, and start straightening it again. It recently finally got long enough that I could add layers for straightening. I watched the beginning of this video, skipped to the end, and decided to go for it because my hair is about the same thickness as the creator’s. I blindly watched to the whole thing from start to finish as I cut. My cut ended up perfect, given the shortest length I picked from the start. It’s a symmetrical U, almost V shape in the back, and has lovely layers in the front. I think as I grow my hair out more and cut again in six months, I will simply pick the starting piece and trim only the dead ends and go from there, so the same shape just grows longer over time. The cut reminds me so much of the cut I had in high school back in the late 90s, which is basically back in style, and it does really well with a blowout styling too. Thanks for this awesome tutorial!!
I just followed this tutorial and i absolutely love how it turned out!! Thank you so much 😊
I fixed a botched haircut with this tutorial. I was so afraid to try it but it came out perfect. Thank you so much! Lifesaver!
Omg ❤This is the first time I cut my hair.I cut it myself and the result is amazing and there is no mistake. Thank you very much❤❤❤❤❤
This is my second time doing this, and honestly I love it more than the first time I did it 8+ months ago. This is a lifesaver and though this takes me 3 hours, I get it just the way I want it at no cost. Thanks so much. I’ll be using this forever.
She makes it look so easy but that’s because she has so much practice lol i want to try it but I’ve only cut my hair like twice so maybe i shouldn’t
You have some of the most beautiful hair I’ve ever seen , be blessed.🙏🏼
This is an amazing video, you explained the process so well and it was easy to follow, thank you so much 😊
👍👏🏼
this looks amazing i killed it on the first try
Thank you for this tutorial. By the way do you have any tips if I want a more U shape instead of the V shape?
I don’t have long enough hair to try this but I will at some point. Came here to say I love your profile pic 🇵🇸 🍉 ✊🏼
So Yoh Asakura are you ready to be somebody saying felomin asha 4:22? This not so well known 4:51, but just leave few hair dancing at bonfire. I said you'd be disappointed 7:14.
omg best tutorial tysm
Thank you so much for this video! Any advice for those of us that have a natural side part?
I am following this hair cut for years now! I love it :)
Beautiful!❤ I get myself this haircut every six months….have quit going to salon since couple of years now!🫶🏼
I just finished cutting my hair, and I am happy with the outcome. My hair usually takes a long time to dry, but when I doing this cut it for som reason dried up qiuck. So annoying. To keep it wet, I had to use a spray bottle frequently. I recommend using a leave-in conditioner, especially if you have split ends. My hair was as long as hers, and it was tiring to stand up for so long. I suggest sitting down instead. If it's your first time, remember to breathe and work on small sections. It is just hair, and it will grow back.
Nice...but I would rather prefer a hairdresser cutting my hair....than myself doing it... he or she knows his or her work....and it will be a perfect result....anyway thanks for the demo❤
Love your pfp
U give such clear and concise instructions and it’s easy to follow ( if u have an idea how to cut hair ) and ur voice is so soothing. Thank u for the tutorial
C'est la meilleure vidéo sur le sujet, bravo 🎉 j'ai pu couper mes cheveux : résultats très satisfaisants
Nice❤
Wah😮😮
I used to cut my bangs to frame my face. I was always nervous to do more. After researching numerous video clips. I loved the time and detail you took to explain every section. My hair was long and heavy. This is a game changer for me! Thank you for sharing your beautiful haircut! Mine came out fabulous! I love that I still have some length!
🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
I've been at for 2.5 hours, the most stressful hours ever
She can get away with this bc of the length of her hair. If her hair were shorter you'd notice more unevenness. If you're using a guide from one side and pulling it over to the other side that new side you cut is going to be slightly longer as the guide was over directed. Haircuts really are not THAT expensive people. I get wanting to save money but if you care enough about how your hair looks to go through all this then just find plenty of pictures and figure out what you like about the pictures and bring them in to your stylist. Go to a salon, not a Supercuts where everyone is taught the same way to cut hair. Tell your stylist that you like the face framing on this cut but would like more or less layers, etc. Its all about communication!! I'm a licensed stylist and I will not cut the back of my own hair bc i can't get it straight and don't want a V cut. When you do find a good stylist, stick with them!!!
Although vthat looks good, i get the same results with less cuts and less time.
I ❤ Olive Dreams 💇🏽♀️
Thank you so much. I’ve been using your guide for years and it’s the only one that gives the perfect results every time. 🙏🏼 thank you for sharing ❤️🍉
god bless you it turned out just great
too complicated😭
You have gorgeous hair
Love this! Can this be done on a closure wig? I would to wear mine this way
I want to try this so bad because I don’t have money to get it done but my arms would hurt too much. One reason I need my hair cut is because of how bad my arms, shoulder, and back muscles hurt from washing g my hair in the shower 😭
i just tried this on my curly hair and i’m so happy with the results!!! it works so well and my hair is nice and even, full, voluminous, and i’m just so happy.
I felt that this video was the best for me to follow to cut my daughter’s hair. Her hair came out so nice and I am pleased that I was able to execute it 😊. Thank you for such an informative video. I think I may apply this process when I do my hair again. Take care!
Lovely 😍 Thanks for this technique. I was looking for a guide trim my long hair myself since hair stylist always do whatever they want in my experience 🥲 I will cut my hair this week with your suggestions.
So I did this yesterday and my hair looks GORGEOUS 😍 better than when I get it at the hair salon.‼️ My recommendation: you can avoid the first step since you might be cutting more later on. So for the next time I'll start with the second step and cut as littleeee as possible because this gives really short layers. Also you can start by the middle of your hear (crown) and not the front.‼️
I'm confused on how much to cut for the first step ie length and how much to cut later on compared to that. What if I want to skip the first step?
Wowww your hair is so pretty!! 😍
❤
Took me bit of time but i really like outcome. Definitely I will use this video again. Thanx for saving me money.
It's very scary because it looks as though she's cutting off a LOT of hair. But she keeps the length. I'm like rimming it's not gonna work like that. I have to just cut n hope for the best. Wish me luck lol.

The fact you have that flag up shows you have zero understanding of history or geopolitics. Ever so succinctly communicating your idiocy to the world.
clearly its you who does't have an idea abt what happened and whats happening now.
I did this on my roommate and I have never cut hair. It turned out so good!
beautiful, thank you!!!
Third time coming here to cut my hair and once again super happy with it! Thank you for this video!! 🙏🏻
Bless you for this!!! I had my mom help me with this cut. We went suuuper slowly and double and triple checked every section and snip and it turned out beauuuuutfully! I’m in utter shock! The layers are beautifully blended and have such good movement! No choppiness at ALL! It looks professional! Thank you so much for sharing this!
