Nokia 6110 Navigator and Nokia 6210 Navigator , both great Nokia Symbian phones !
Thank-you, your video has given me a very good view of a Curta. I’ve been dreaming of having one for years, and I’ve only seen one in my life, in a museum display case…

They were quite expensive when they came out, I could only afford a Nokia 6230
There is one thing I remember from my N95...the soundsettings. And when you got a call you could let the phone read to you who is calling. It could even read out sms if I remember correct. The thing with the calls I know for sure!
For me my N95 was dying when Whatsapp was no longer supported. I actually had 2 N95 as one had too many signs of usage. Still have them and even my 9300i which sadly is just too old. Now as 3g is turned off in Germany I cant even use those phones as daily phones. Resulting in not using them at all... If WhatsApp would work I would maybe go back. Even compared to my "modern" Galaxy S7 the camera of the N95 is good. Still like looking at pictures I did with it....
I recall the camera noises were disabled when you put the phone on silent mode, which you could do from the settings, or just by holding the hash key (#) on the home screen. Though your mileage may vary if there were laws that forced them to leave them on in some countries... EDIT: Finished the video and can I just say thank for introducting me to whats possible with SE modding! I was expecting just a showcase of the phone, but you went above and beyond. Nice work! I still got my old phones lying around somewhere, might have to dig those out one of these days =)
I wonder if there is a way to use this phone by tricking cellphone networks that's it's a 4g/5g compatible, if so then there should be a way to make older 2g and 3g dumbphones work on any cellphone network.
I still love phones like this, flip phone even nokia 3310 styled phones. They need to make 5g compatible phones instead forcing consumers to use touch screen smart phones.
Could you please digitize that audio tape and upload it to the internet archive?
This video brings memories N95 8gb was my phone, way ahead of any other phone in that time . Amazing
As long as nfc, bluetooth and other near person untracked data exists these phone will still be useful. Standalones are so hard nowadays with chinese spyware and manufacturing.
If simbia os still there then it's the best os. One one can't beat it. I mis till now I love this os
I never had the N95 but I did have a N81. One of the best phones I ever had. Also, that gameplay of Lament Island takes me back, I haven't thought of that game for a decade plus. It was too spooky for my younger self haha
so cool, but it really makes me thankful to be alive now. my tablet has an 11" 120hz 1440p oled screen, a stylus, a keyboard an os based on linux but i can do nearly anything i can imagine on it and it costs less than $300. this doesn make me want to bust out some dos box
Beside many other Nokia models, I also had the N95, which I really loved. It all started with a 3110, then 3210, 8210, 7110, 8310, 6680 and finally the N95😊
Woah, this brought back so many memories! When I moved out from my parents house in 2008 to another city 300 kilometers away, I actually used my N95 as navigation system in the car. The first night I spent in my new flat, I actually watched "No Country for Old Men" on my N95, as I didn't have a TV back then. It was such a great phone and I still have all the photos and videos I made with it back in the day.
Not sure about n95, but on n81 i found the best fps(duke3d) experience with the keyboard being up top and the screen on the bottom.
and then elop happen
Woahhhh! Childhood memories when he load the Another world! I loved playing that game in my 7610 back in the days,
The 'i' was once used by companies to show a relatively minor update to an existing model, but eventually was just used to signify international, showing what bands were supported. The manuals and other literature omitted the 'i' as they were intended for all variants/SKUs.
My mom wasn't a techy person. When she brought home a brand spanking new N95 as her phone i was really surprised. I had only read about it in tech-oriented publications. After a while i became extremely interested in the N82, as it was one of the only phones with a "real" xenon flash. And was small and portable enough to be pocketable. Never got the chance to get one, but i still think it looks great.
I had this phone back at the time. It was a really great phone. I would recommend trying out a K770i if you can get one.
Why there is no "dumb phone" on the market today with modern camera!? I think there is big niche. I want buttons and small form/screen, battery that will last for a week like the good old Nokia, but capable to take decent smart phone-like photos too.
Yo that's the second phone I had
Wow a Transmeta Crusoe laptop... God I fell for the lies... it was so slow.
You have to find a way to fix that crack on the side by the hinge it can get worse
The Walkman 800i i own, Symbian still supported, many cool games. Used it till the iPhone launch
hasta la llegada del k790 y posterior k850, ese era el perron XD
To this day I use this tablet, what a wonderful thing... I don’t know why you don’t like Windows 8.1, I used it until year 2023, then I had to switch to Windows 10, a decision which I later regretted... As a suggestion for another video, try to find the Surface RT. It is the first Windows tablet running Windows 8 RT for ARM. I think it would make a cool video!..
Great suggestions, I would love to try a Surface RT. It's not that I don't like Windows 8/8.1, it's that I've never tried them. But this has changed recently. I've installed Windows 8 on something unusual. It's a really interesting experience and I think it would make a good video.
Amazing video and its crazy how small HDD became. In 2 years you can make a video about PC fans. Maybe in 10 years we don't have any PC fans anymore.
The K750 saved my life when on a trip to Rome my main camera (Canon) was stolen. I took all the photos I badly needed with my Sony phone and even 16 years later they are still usable and I certainly have very fond memories of this "dumb" phone.
You shoud cover the Nokia N9, it would be interesting
7:59 MAN THANKS I FINALLY KNOW THE NAME OF THAT GAME I PLAYED WHEN I WAS LIKE 9 OR 10 ON MY AUNT'S NOKIA
You can get custom crystals cut at a not excessive price, IQD definitely still offer these.
Remember this phone. It was really good and people knew it.
Mate, that mod player music really brought good old childhood memories! ❤
May we see more games? Please?
I do have some Palm OS videos coming. The next one will be a greyscale LCD Palm model with older OS, so less capable for games. But this will lead into further videos with lots more games.
I remember when these phones were about £400-£600...
that was one of the few n series I never had but always wanted. best line of phones ever in my opinion. special place in my heart for s60v3. my favorites were the N75,N81,N82,N86, and N96. I remember spending hours researching these phones and having so much fun.
It’s a shame hat Nokia maps went (bought by Microsoft I believe) it had lots of detail and felt superior, to me, to Google Maps at the time.
honestly one of the best phones I've ever owned.
My Mom and later on I used to have a few Sony Ericsson Phone, K700, K800, W888, W910 and the Satio. These phones were kind of special to the ones you saw most other people had, which were either something from Nokia or from Siemens, usually a little older and basic. I personally still love the haptics of the W888 and W910. The W888 was so thin, you wouldn't even notice it in your pocket while still feeling oddly sturdy, however the dial buttons were something you only used if necessary and not really for any games. The W910 was just the perfect thickness when slid closed and a nice size when open for calls, though the sliding mechanism killed a connection ribbon for me, which was quite unfortunate.
Oh my, what a blast from the past. I have one of these, I'm not sure which model, or where it is, but now I want to hunt for it. I spent a ton of time in Japan from 2001 to 2011 and bought SO much stuff there. This was such a cool tool for the time, I know I didn't use it anywhere near its full potential.
Or let an expert fix your phone wich your utterly broke, well i see huge potential in this phone,if the gameboy advance could run doom, this nokia phone should be definitely able to run doom on it.
To be fair it was already broken, beyond economical repair. I just made it worse in the name of learning. I would love to see Doom running on this :)
Got one of those, still fond memories of this "brick". Remembering even checking stock prices in real time on the street in the built in browser during the crash of 2008 ... I also love your Sony Vaio model with "Crusoe" processor. That was something I dreamt of getting my hands on at that time but was too expensive for me.
Also love all those GUI animations - very smooth for a feature phone. Great gadget!
