Oy. As a vet myself. It is pretty accurate for basic training. Some of the guys, were fine, but others…NOT so much. Had a kid die from a heart murmur and dehydration. So we had to read a script pre written by our superiors saying “hey! You might see something in the news about a kid dead at boot camp. BUT don’t worry it’s not us.”

I had this on VHS! I don't remember the Town Crier part, though. I remember after the bell rang, it showed the monsters, and they also started dancing. 😂😅 Edit: Whoa, and definitely don't remember the crier at the end, either. On the VHS I had, I recall it ended on the book "Hurricane" after everyone got blown away. 😅 Edit again: Love how Rip Van Winkle is in the cuckoo clock. 😂 Thank you for sharing this. It allowed me to relive my childhood, and see parts I had never known about!

2:23 for those of you who don’t know who this man is,that is legendary Jazz singer and band leader Cabell Calloway III or “Cab Calloway” he was widely known for his “mastery of energetic and innovative scat singing”(Wikipedia;plus my own words) He was a phenomenal dancer and was even rotoscope-animated into several Betty boop cartoons and sung songs for each one respectively. He even starred in the 1980 hit comedy film “The blues brothers” Perhaps his most famous work is “Minnie the moocher” a catchy blues song about a young girl who gets entangled in a sad,and depressing life consumed by drugs and a unhappy relationship who wishes to escape. Incredibly “Minnie the Moocher was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999, and in 2019 was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress.[5] It has been argued that the record was the first jazz record to sell a million copies.[6]” (Wikipedia) IMHO he was an incredible musician and dancer.Of course, his animated character is very stereotypically /caricatured which is impolite, nevertheless him being included in this flick was surely a compliment to his work!

best part is the horses as it sort of highlight who is doing most of the work during actual drills etc and why they deserve some good care for it , though dam , 1941 ,and still cavalry ? presume the carton is making an effort to try retain a fragment of the ''prestige'' from previous centuries since as far i know even before ww1 most equine assets where changed into either locally sustained material transport or infantry&miscellaneous transport rather then any direct combat ones , or well suppose there was the fragments of various 'honour guards' and such but those numbers where so small it be like finding a single guy fighting with an axe in a country and declaring their whole army is axe fighters
