Howdy, since the age of 6 years old I have been into trains (and I've ALWAYS had a layout) ... but, with this one I decided to go for broke and it ended up being over 1450+ square feet (as It took 53 4 by 8 sheets of wood to build). Today however, I'm not so hot on Trains as my interests have strayed into other things (like classic muscle-cars). OK: a quick overview: In my many engines (over 750+ engines alone / amid many thousands of cars) I am OR I WAS a great MTH supporter ... BUT in the last 10 years +, MTH took a HUGE turn downward fall and then did a total "about-face" with regard to ANY Customer Service (in ANY venue). Later-on things got even worse (amid un-returned phone calls, unanswered letters, and even e-mail's), this THEN became the norm ... so a good many of us abandoned them. Worse that this: employee upon employee were fired, and things have been reduced to literally nothing anymore. NOW, a war-like "attitude" exists upon contacting them !. *Now their gone / "sad".

I got 2 great working machines
Sad honda isn't producing these anymore
Where did you buy it?
At my Local Honda Dealer ... *their likely not available anymore / as gas mowers are NOW "counter'ban".
Cool.
I’m an A380, sadly, as you know. Seats are the first to go in my cars. Good to hear your voice again.
Hi ya Joe, yep: "still kicking" !. 🧐
(BTW: Hoping Mom's still ok, ... and Cindy and the Kids are as well Joe !.)
@@TommyZTrains Bless you, Tom. It's has been a rough couple of years. I last saw you as COVID kicked off. Stupidest thing we ever did was to react to COVID the way we did. Then, my daughter died of an overdose. Sad to be sure but not surprising. We had lost her to Biden's Fentanyl infusion and the drug world long before. Then, Cindy was diagnosed with breast cancer. Treatment worked and she's okay now. The "kids" are fine, thank you. Life goes on. How is Kathy? Still doing the Convention of States thing? we need it now more than ever. I'm off for the junk yard now (er, I mean recycling center). Take care my friend!
@@TommyZTrains And yes, mom's still kicking. 96 years old and ornery as ever. She will live forever. Thanks for asking!!!
@@Dr_Joe OMG Joe ... I now fall on the sword, STOP EVERYTHING, & with GREAT PAUSE standing still and just NUM / with a VERY heavy heart ... "Don't you DARE tell me that" 🙏🙏. So upset / I do NOT know how to respond. 😮💨🙏
Great looking Regal! Glad to see a video from you. Very glad to know you are doing well.
Hey ! ... I don't do many videos anymore because I've "done 'em all already" ... Just old cars now.
@@TommyZTrains LoL..
Great to see another video from you Tom. I love that generation of Buick and Oldsmobile.
HI Henry !!! ... "sentimental ole' fool" (me). 😉😊 THANKS !.
If you still have this car I would like to buy
It's put away / and has been since this video, and; even if were a 15K offer (to buy it), I'm afraid I've come to far now , *[as I close in on nearly 50 years of ownership] ... as even that's literally 'nothing' anymore ... and, "even that's hardly a down payment on so much as as a used car anymore" (that same 15 K). So, trust me "many want ta buy it", (and I'm flattered + THX.), but I'll respectfully pass. Lastly: I hope that in 20 more years, It'll still turn heads as I'm positive there is NOT another example like it anywhere !. Hope that makes sense / Best
My detents will not press down and release shifter 1and 2 park reverse and drive and overdrive work fine
Pop it out and have a look ... *with a more simple means of finding out what's wrong, pop off the cover and look down with a good LED Lamp, VERY SIMPLE Once your understand it's "simple" complexity. 🤔
Hello my name is Jeff and I have a question for you. I just purchased a 1984 Hurst Olds, same color as the one in the video. Front and back wings are flawless. Body has virtually no rust. Has the lightning rods. Any general idea of the value of it. No body damage.
The short answer: "not much". I'd stay away (MYSELF PERSONALLY). I spent hundreds in just advertising alone, for what I thought was a 'Museum-Example' Car (the one you see here), that I worked on / in concert with the H.O.C.A. Result: In the end: I literally gave it away !. SO, [ in my OPINION ], these cars are not a "great" investment. THAT SAID: Some Lawyer (or Atty.) will, and MAY pay a nice price ... but: like ANYTHING ... "it's worth what you can get". I lost huge money on all my G Body cars, as (around HERE), they won't even garner passive interest. Lastly, even if you DID, get say: "10K" ... "that won't buy a junk-ass rotten Chevy Aveo" !. End run: 'INVESTMENT' / "no", enjoyment: "sure". But after that: "I'd stay away". Best
You're like the Bob Ross of power antenna repair!
Love that guy ! 👌👍
No “LOL”, *but I’ve heard there are people who ask; “where’s the steering wheel” on them trains ?! 😂
I wouldn't let him take it after seeing the way he closed that drivers door
I had a real love for this one / but look NOW: "nobody wants these cars today". 😔 In the end you do it for you.
The ecoboost has been a nightmare for me,,,first the blow by then the rattle started ,,,it’s just been one after another after another ,,,,right now I’m looking at a complete engine change out transmission and all…..
Shit, "I'm sorry to hear that". We got off to a rough start (this video), but now *(as I surpass 200 K miles), I have had zero issues / and the oil is changed every 4K with plain ole Motorcraft "plain-Jane" 5-W-30 oil as Ford recommends ... and aside of an occ. bottle of "Tectron" cleaner every 15 K, I have done NOTHING. The issue is ANY NEW TRUCK is far worse then this / amid most receiving not 10 points outa 100 with Consumer Reports. Anymore, a hundred K miles out of ANY American platform is near impossible.
Very helpful except that I didn’t listen very well. I forgot to remove two hidden screws in the air intake, used force, and broke a few small pieces from the cover and cracked it in several places. I think I can fix it. My car is a 1990 Buick LeSabre estate wagon. I couldn’t find an OEM Brass heater core so I’m going with the Aluminum Chinese one. Honestly the coolant smell wasn’t that bad. I never should have touched it. Too late now, have to press on.
Boy o' man, a nice big and reliable 307 V-8 ? / "those were B E A U T I F U L cars" !! ... Just fix it / and it'll be OK.
@@TommyZTrainsThanks, in the 80s My dad had an Estate Wagon and a Grand National. Both fun cars.
@@davidwhitman9609 I remember them ALL having worked all my Career at Buick ! ... "my Pop too" !! (The Estate Wagon ownership).
How about another train videp !
I don't know what I could "do" that's not already been done ... "and I haven't even looked at a train in ages / amid zero interest. 🙃
A train with only three coaches JUST passed my house going towards St. Helen, baggage car was wide open though, don't know what kind of train it was
It could be maintenance of way (M.O.W.) Trains ...
Hi, we have blades for your mower. We can offer free products for review. Are you interested?
Always go for the fill plug first. If you pull the drain plug first and can't get the fill plug out you will be in for some trouble. I got my fill plug out with a serpantine belt wrench without removing the muffler or anything. I then used the old fashioned giant oil syringe for filling rear diffs. Autozone has them for less than 20 bucks.
Fill plug's (plural), as there are two. But as I preface here, It is impossible to reach ANY of it ... and, when you become determined (as your site example of here) and you DO get either the top OR the side plugs out (and you can), you cannot get an evacuation hose / tip, "or-end" of your evac. device (or anything else" 'IN' the sump, so that will garner no result. Even with them out (both plugs), any entry is impossible / as the pinion (call it the ring gear) are a literal "wall" + will stop you dead in your tracks amid no entry from siphoning or sucking out 'anything'. Lastly: the 2014's THEN incorporated a drain plug, (IOW: the complaints ran wild, and Ford saw the light), I myself would later drill a hole / + install a drain plug (I drilled a hole / & threaded same to install a pipe plug) on my pig bottom (on the flat part of the pigs bottom where the part number label is), & I found my resolve there. *I now have 237 K on this car, (and I've dropped that diff. oil 3 or 4 times now), + the car has STILL given me zero issues. *WHAT A GREAT CAR OTHERWISE ! / just saying. BEST
Again: there is NO DRAIN PLUG on a 2013 Ford Escape. (You say IF u pull the drain plug first) ... "there isn't one ta pull". 🤣
Great vidoe, I'm an HRC216 owner myself, im not a mechanic and just do basic maintenance so I learned a lot this video. Is there a reason that the rpms arent as strong as before? It doesn't go as fast anymore, would greasing the ball bearings like you did help with that? Is it just grease that you put on them?
That won't help (in an RPM regard), and I wouldn't really worry about your "little personality change" amid the governed speed. It CAN be moved, but I'm quite sure that overall you are happy with the machines performance ? / and there is a governor spring, that perhaps has lost just a tiny bit of tinsel (strength) ... so, if your running the motor and look on the left side; you will see a network of links / and it is there that you'll find an "arm" that you carefully can bend to INCREASE spring "tinsel" strength. *I know this won't make a lot of sense, but I'm afraid that it's rather involved to do this procedure unless your well familiar with the machines "build". END RUN: you haven't any "real-issue" right ? / SO then; "just leave things alone" / but KNOW that under ANY load, the machine WILL compensate for ANY "load" that you can happen to throw at it / = "everything's ok". 🙃 Just keep the blades nice n' sharp, give it a bit of a lube, and you'll enjoy FOREVER performance. Take CARE.
I guess powered battery powered trimmers are great for homeowners who only “edge”the yard every two weeks! I’m serious. Homeowners who don’t use them commercially. They would be good string trimmers and things smaller than that! Perhaps even small chainsaw for occasionally use. But lawnmowers & especially riding mowers NO!!
I love Greenie guilt!😂
Crazy is great for homeowners and landscapers you want great lawnmowers for a fraction of the price!😂
To landscapers, Honda's HRC 216 is like the AR-15 firearm, the best weapon in his arsenal: one pull, one start. I purchased one in the mid-eighties, a model HRC 216-AD, type HXA. The engine lasted for 40-years of residential use before it through a rod this week--right out the side of the case. Fortunately, I was able to procure a long block off eBay, what appears to be a Honda compatible. We shall see how long it last. For the record, I have zero interest in an electric mower. My 93-year-old mother has one of those "Playstation" mowers, a Black and Decker 36V, and it is already dead as a doornail.
Careful ... "or were coming after / for YOU" ! (ROFLOL). The (this) whole thing is literally ridiculous / amid something that "isn't even there". These 'freakout people' astound me and there falling for all this hook - line "and battery". 🤥 I'm [now] am on my 5th Machine, and I'm getting more an more fussy with what I'll buy / or "offer" to buy. I think however (now), that I'm gonna stop and see where all this goes. I LOVE Your analogy / + couldn't agree MORE. 😂
I’m looking to buy one of these. Any leads you can give me!?
No, "not really", as most want rid of these (and I paid about 15 bucks for this one here) ... after that, just watch at curbside / or watch Yard sales as their are many / amid the different badges. After I was "done" / I sold mine for 40 bucks.
@@TommyZTrains thank you for the prompt reply. I will keep looking. Any chance you want to sell yours!?
I sold that mower years ago ...
Very well executed ,I will try on my Lesabre 1985 full size GM.
Best of luck !!
There is no problem with American Homeowner atmospheric pollution. India and China are contributing over 2/3 of the problem alone... Six companies operating within the United States generate the majority of the atmospheric pollution currently tracked here. Stop believing this horseshit - it's the same fear-based lie that's being sold in literally every other aspect of your society.
Unable to find one used, however, I found one brand new at a local dealer. I pulled the plug, and I should have had peace of mind until I packed it in and placed it in a box.
I see a surprising amount of battery lawn mowers for sale. I am not sure if people buy them then regret it or what. I will stick to gas mowers myself. I am still running an old school snapper which might be the best mower I ever owned and its over 20 years old.
The poor saps are buying those electric mowers out of GUILT, and within a year the battery dies, and they put them out on the curb for trash. Then their buying a used gas mower because they just work if they take care of them.
Purchased one of these new in 2011 and have been using it every season without fail. Just tore it down and replaced a bunch of rusty parts. I would disagree though that these are dropping in value. In fact I believe that these will begin to appreciate as they become more scarce. A nice example in the shape of the one you worked on gets upwards of a grand in my area. Landscapers will pay all the money for the nice examples as they know they are a work horse.
Never said I THOUGHT they were "losing" value Jeff ... my remarks are aligned with the people whom ALREADY have these, **and "THEY" think they'll be taken away or something** / because their GAS Pwr'ed ... Again: I see them all over the place, and people do NOT seem to want a "gas anything" anymore ... so they sit-and sit (the last one was 18 weeks with no takers), and I move in and lowball offer them, and when I loading the machine up they'll remark that I cannot bring it back BECAUSE it's a gas machine and THEY are NOT responsible ! ... and: with that: I get the better one's for literally pennies on the dollar. I now have 5 machines ..... "You tell me".
Jeez. Would love to assist someone in relieving their guilt of an HRC216! No such silliness in my area. I bought mine brand new in 2018 and I really appreciate the quality. It now has about 55hrs.
"Honda Commercial Lives matter". 🥴
I have to ask if you modify all your smoke units in your engines…non of mine ever smoked as good as yours
Nope, never a one-time and I don't know HOW one would ... "most complained about to much smoke". 🙃
I use the same clamp on my Honda
"I think just about everyone does" !!
Any guard with a fine screen will not let anything through and all debris will just lay on the gutter. Your new choice is better because they let the little stuff through that exits through the down spouts. The big stuff will lay on the gutter and get blown off eventually. A type that I like and may install on my house is a product called Raindrop.
Good info. ! *In MY example I STILL have rarely ever had to monkey with "anything" Gutter related ... "It's the best thing I ever did". Best.
I like how nostalgic those sound
Funny how they used a race car style shifter for weak 180hp v8 with no torque, gotta love the 80s
"I think even 180 HP would be pushing it" ... while an interesting novelty, it was all silliness (to ME).
Ive used an HRC and an HRX for years. The HRX is good for flats and tight areas (lightweight) The HRC shines on awkward/hilly/ wet and basically any other terrain over the HRX. The HRC is just planted at all times. Its a bear to move around but worth it.
The eco boost 3.5 has a water pump leaking problem later. I guy said change the oil under 50 k cause dirty oil are corrosive to the river water pump seal.
I'm looking for that exact mower. HRC2016 Commercial Honda. I live in Fresno.
Can you ship to Texas? Great unit and great job tuning up!
Just wait and watch ... "their everywhere". 🙃
Ship them to Pittsburgh pa ,, can find any HRC216
"can find" ? ... Boy there all over the place here !.
Just picked up one of these from my dealer. Used by a homeowner once a week for 5 years. Perfect shape. $600. I thought I got a good deal, but $250? That's a steal! What is the 3M coating you used on the underside of the deck before the fluid film?
Just 3M Rubberized Undercoating. I now have 4 of these, and I'm quite sure many more will pop up as things get "worse" amid the fossil fuel setting / & the guilt factor.
I have a 1996 base model Buick Park Avenue that the 28-year-old power antenna finally went out and it is also continuously running which tells me from the info I gathered in your video The metal line that is wrapped around the motor gear assembly has also snapped and there’s no longer connected causing that switch to remain constantly on allowing that motor to spin continuously
Think you mean the 'plastic cord' / but yeah, that's likely the problem. .... "GM Made millions of them".
Big bummer, bars to mow are 4 inches Lower on the commercial unit. Guess they figured all commercial buyers are super short kids
Not only no oil, also no info in the sent manual on the amount of oil. So after a mountian of research. 22oz.
My 78 cutlass Number 3 doesn't have a bolt hole just a blank mount no bolt
Could be / I can't even remember it was so long ago ... 😉
I lashed up 7 on the zw, but never tried more than that, wonder how many I can do?
10's the limit (then the message: "to many engines in lash-up" appears ... 10's plenty.
Sorry for the questions I’m doing this whole replacement as we speak . Evaporator core and heater core on my 87 regal
What was the mesh called that goes on the evaporator core I can’t find it 😩
What is that mesh screen called ? I need to find a new one for my 87 . The sun ate it all up most of it is gone .
Not sure ... perhaps a "Lower Windshield reveal Screen" ?. Drain Cowl exclusion ? ...
Spaying a protective coat under is a great idea
I think so !. 🥴
