These shade cords are destine to break. I have several of these very expensive shades. Guests notoriously come to me with the cord in hand and an apology. Nightmare.

Curious about the blinds being higher on the sill when open as you pointed out- why wouldn’t they just measure them slightly longer so when they’re closed on the sill they’re good and when they’re open on the sill they’re not too short. Looks about an inch or two too short....

Why do companies like this still refuse to sell their products online like a normal company?

Hello! Great question... My opinion is that it is because of the warranty. If there is any issues to be had you go directly to the dealer first and we troubleshoot and initiate any warranty claims. Shades are so detailed and built custom for each individual client/window that a personable service is offered via the dealer. I hope that helps!

From my experience this past year, I've had a few product malfunctions and had to replace faulty parts that would normally be such a hassle to replace myself (like motorized components on very tall windows, squeaking, and trim on shutters that came off). I think that COVID has really wreaked havoc on the logistics/supply chain everywhere and this is the year I really have appreciated the full-service companies. I've had such great in-home service and the techs come anytime I need them. They are pricey but I think it's the service you pay for. I've bought shades from Lowes that are very good for the price, but I would never buy the more custom shades/blinds with motorization from anyone other than a full-service company like Hunter Douglas.
