I was born the year Sun City was opened. However, 60 years later, I am so thankful I found Del Webb's promise of an active lifestyle. The things that have changed are the grass yards in the single family homes, traffic, wardrobes and thankfully the women's day out going to the beauty salon! Making life long friends, enjoying the beautiful weather and having many activities to choose from are the constants during these last 60 years.

Being a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000 I was constantly inserting comments that the robots would be making into the scenes in both parts of this presentation, what a hoot. Watching this does send me back to my childhood growing up in Santa Ana, California and the seemingly simpler times of that era, but in a lot of instances they weren’t that simple but as a preteen and teenager you just weren’t award of life’s difficulties at that age. I’m 69 now and my wife and I fled North Hollywood, California and the zombie apocalypse for Prescott, Arizona where my folks lived for many years after my Dad’s retirement and are enjoying the beautiful mountain life here and our views of Thumb Butte just a mile away to the west.

How times have changed. But basic desires haven't. Just 3 years ago purchased a home in Sun City, AZ. Still working full time on the East Coast. Amenties are great and it's nice to know I have a vacation home for now, and a retirement destination for later. VERY happy I purchased it!

What a great call to purchase 3 years ago, your home is probably worth 80% more than it was when you bought it.

Probably were not a lot of people leaving los Angeles (even though this version of LA had snow lol) for desolate, HOT, undeveloped Phoenix suburbs when this video was filmed. Now though however...

Looks remarkably similar to the Air Force base in the town where I grew up during the 1960s, right down to the Wherry and Capehart housing and the bleak golf course.
