How is it steaming if the pasta is submerged in the water. It is not steaming, it may be cooking in the steam cooker, or something like that, but it is not steaming.

I usually boil water, pour it over dry pasta and put it in the steamer. Works fine.

Covering something in water and putting it in the oven isn't steaming. I don't know why you would use the oven when you can use the ring, use less energy, and keep an eye on progress.

That's a commercial combination oven, it also doubles as a steamer which is what they have it set on there.

I just tried using my food steamer on some ramen noodles, for 1 hour, and it didnt work at all. BUT, i think a pressure cooker can steam ramen noodles and any pasta.
