you CAN get another appt but will have to pay ($250) my advice it to negotiate a 2nd or 3rd before you are in contract- we did! Get a price sheet, and tally up EVERYTHING you want then narrow down to your budget. Go in KNOWING a ballpark budget. Estimate 10% of the house cost is what you will spend in design upgrades=)

Pre drywall inspections would not be as neceassary if everyone did their jobs right. Very few out there anymore that do quality work. This means ALL trades.
Exactly that’s what I’m saying like these builders need to do things right the first damn time. Home owners shouldn’t have to keep spending extra money to behind them smh.

Thank you! Yes, I agree. Had they given us an option for a different finish we would have paid as well. Flat paint all over the house has been the worst.

Yes, when you're going to do a pre-drywall inspection, must be scheduled with the general contractor so he got it ready for that purpose. Rough inspection of plumbing, electric, mechanical, and framing would be ideal to have them sign off so the pre-drywall inspection can be done properly. Good luck!

Thank God we haven’t. Besides minor things like the grout coming off of some areas we haven’t had any big issues.

@@marymaeee we’ve had so much delays it’s ridiculous. First brick now the delay for the last 3 weeks has been not able to get someone to come out and do the electrical trim. This has pushed us back another month. Supposed to be closing mid august its now end of September and still no closing date. This has been a frustrating process. I should’ve started up a KZread channel and record our building process…

I actually love the color. I’m not a big fan of dark colors so I understand your concern because I was the same way! But it’s not dark at all. Specially if you have big windows. I am obsessed with this color

Yes!! This was our first new build and we didn’t have the best realtor so there was a lot of things that the builder didn’t disclose and we also didn’t ask the right questions. Definitely make sure you have a good support system and someone with new build knowledge to help you throughout the process.
