    Looks old school cool to me. A little cautionary tale about slipons for you. I have the same bike in vivid black. I thought I wanted a better sound so I bought some Vance and Hines eliminator 300 pcx slipons and installed them and went for a ride. They looked awesome and sounded great. Here's the bad part... I had a noticeable loss of my low end torque and more vibration in the handle bars. This bike was really happy with the stock exhaust so I put it back on and me and my heritage ate happy again. $800 mistake. I think the vibration was because the Vance and Hines are like half the weight of the stock bullet mufflers. Just my experience. I still love Vance and Hines just not these slipons on this bike.

  • @TheSonofHarold
    @TheSonofHarold8 күн бұрын

    Thanks for the comment and the info. Hopefully I didn’t make the same mistake. I already ordered Vance & Hines PCX slip ons. Should be here soon. I went with the Twin Slash though. Not sure what the difference will be. Stay tuned. Thanks again.

  • @TheSonofHarold

    @@SirJonathan439 Yeah. I sure hope so. I will say the Heritage has way more vibration than my previous touring models. I know the motor is rigid mounted with 2 counter balancers. I find 5th gear at 65 mph is pretty bad so I’m shifting into 6th a lot sooner than I would normally would. Bike seems to prefer lower rpm’s

  • @SirJonathan439
    @SirJonathan4397 күн бұрын

    Same here with the vibration. I only have about 500 miles on mine so far, just got it a couple weeks ago. I'm hoping as it breaks in things will smooth out a little. I absolutely love this bike anyway. It shakes way, way, less than my evo powered 1993 fatboy did.

    @@SirJonathan439 Nice! I am right at 600 miles on mine. I am loving mine also. I decided to do all my own work on this one to learn as much as I can about the bike (and save some money too). I’m a bit nervous about doing the 1K service but I know when that’s done I will have gone through the whole bike. That will be a good feeling.

    How are your weight loss goals progressing? I began my journey in April 2022, starting with manual bike rentals from Blue Bike, weighing in at 240 lbs and barely able to walk a mile. A week later, with my muscles adjusting to regular cycling, I decided to take up DoorDash deliveries. This gave me a bigger purpose and helped me avoid procrastination. After nine months, I had lost about 60 lbs. I then bought a used bike and completely stopped driving unless traveling more than 30 miles. The benefits have been tremendous. Not only did I lose weight, but I also regained the proper time management skills I had lost while driving. Plus, I've experienced a significant reduction in stress caused by traffic and road rage.

  • @TheSonofHarold
    @TheSonofHarold27 күн бұрын

    Those are great gains. You should be proud of the progress. My results are not great. Winter ruins outdoor activities and the holidays didnt help either. Spring is back and we are back at it. The cycle continues.

    Same bike I just got. Not too sexy, but it gets the job done. Trek calls it a “hybrid/comfort” bike… I call it a dad bike :-) Same as you - not a weight problem, since I’m pretty much where I want to be, but I’m older and sit too much. I enjoy biking and need the regular exercise and the Verve is just the ticket. Had to chuckle at your video… your canine friend is hinting that you could get some exercise with her and the frisbee :-) Good luck with your efforts to drop weight and be healthy - sounds like you’re on the right path, having lost a respectable amount already. Cycling speeds up your metabolism which makes you more hungry. I found walking to work best while keeping my calories to 1200/day. I would try to walk no less than 1-1/2 hours/day and lost 55 pounds in 5 months. I started back cycling once the weight was off and I manage it that way. Anything that increases your heart rate will make you ravenously hungry. I now find that I eat between 2500-3000 calories/day depending on the amount I ride and i continue to maintain 155 pounds.
