I find green hair algae is pretty easy to remove by hand. I was told it’s because you have too much iron in the water. I haven’t used any plant fertiliser for at least 6-8 weeks. I have at least 20 different types of plants and some pieces of driftwood. My green hair algae only seems to grow on my subwassertang moss close to the top where the light is, and only in one area, I just remove it by hand.

Depends on the species of piranha. You’re talking about red bellies. Yes, with red bellies being pussys by themselves the Dovii would win hands down. Red bellies are only dominate in groups but there are species if pirahna that dominate by themselves like the Dovii which is the black pirahna. A black pirahna would literally kill a Dovii. Believe it or not, black piranhas have a bite force psi that is more powerful than a saltwater crocodile. Yes, I researched this and couldn’t believe it myself but it’s true.

I agree. I run emperor 450's now so the price is up there with the 110's but i still prefer them to aquaclear. The new aqua techs that are made by marineland are pretty nice now as well. They have the pumps inside the tank and the intake dumps directly on to a very course sponge and i fill the rest of space with sponge. All of my filters get filled with sponge. I use one piece of quilt backing between layers of sponge. Sponge is the best biomedia there is. I have a 20 gallon with an undergravel filter with the riser tubes stacked all the way to the top with marineland k2 bio media and ran with an air pump. The k2 in my opinion is the next on the list just below sponge for the best bio media on the market. The marineland k2 is the only brand of k2 that works in the tubes that ive found due to design because of the hole in the middle that the airline goes through. Im not sure marineland even knows they designed a perfect biomedia for undergravel filter tubes . Check it out man. Maybe due a video on it if you like it.

Plastic plants don['t kill fish (nor the paint chipping off ornaments). It could be any glue or fresh paint solvents leaching into the water (e.g. fresh silicon sealer) so you just leave it in a pail full of water for a while so the toxins can leak out. You should also do this with a new tank held together with silicon sealer. Just fill it with water and leave it for two weeks or more. You can smell the solvents evaporating.

Got this fish tank divider that fits all tanks and is forth alot if put on the market except that material can be a problem that ill trade for your red texas ciclid and or tell me where i can get one or a black longfin oscar. I could send a picture of it but then i get no fish, plus throw in a plain texas, think its a green texas. Size is a big factor in how fish tank buddies figures. Have africans that would normally terrorize the tank but my redtail sharks terrorizes them and therefore they stay in line, go figure. My favorate fish rules and so on, hopefully. Get a mating pair of convicts and all bets are off. Had a pair bully a full grown flower horn and take over a 200 gallon and all the rest except a ten inch black shark

Just set up my aquarium I hope it does good, I knew the water wasnt going to be perfect and looks like I got a few high levels I really hope my plants dont die... I used really nice substrate and also got some plant food to try and make the plants happy. I CANT WAIT for it to finish cycling so I can get fish!
