  There's a profound loneliness I feel when I think back to the many great memories I have from my childhood growing up in this town which I was born. They echo in my mind as I look at these wonderful moments of a home that I long for, lost in time, to which I can never return.

  some quintessential thousand oaks experiences: - driving 10 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store past a hundred other homes that look just like yours. - waiting at 15-20 long stoplights on moorpark road trying to go north or south through the city - going to the oaks mall to walk around as a teenager because the rest of the city is a road lined with brick walls and trees - nearly flying into a tree in the center divider while driving on lynn road - sitting in excruciating traffic trying to drive literally anywhere else with something interesting to do (ie. los angeles, ventura, santa barbara) - moving away to college and pondering your entire existence there
