    I read this book. It really is a bit difficult for someone who doesn't have knowledge of previous philosophers especially I found some Husserl Quoted a lot. So some of it went ser k uper se. Haha. But there are many good chapters. I liked Duan Juansim Chapter. Drama. conquest. In first few pages Camus writes Any reason to live is a great reason for die as well It reminded me of Ishq main farak nahi jene oor marne ka Usi ko dekh k jete hain jis kafir pe dham nikle I have one question that I wanted to ask. In Drama(page 80) there is a line. If it was essential to love at stage like people really do, our speech would be in code. What did he mean by that.

  • @3rd_POV
    @3rd_POVКүн бұрын

    I think in this section he is saying, life is absurd and we are all acting our parts, and that is why we like dramas. Because in drama, actor plays a character for few minutes and then it is finished. Drama is absurd and life is absurd. Actor tries to give some meaning to drama but then it gets over, so is life. Actor has only 2 tools body and voice - a mime actor can only use one tool that is his body, he cannot speak, so he has to use magnified body gestures and also his silence has to be used as an act of speech. If an actor is allowed to speak his heart, like he does in his normal life, he will have to talk in codes. Camus was a stage actor and director - he uses a lot of similar analogies. I hope I was helpful.

    Sir Hegel Ki Thymos Concept Kya Hai?

  • @3rd_POV
    @3rd_POVКүн бұрын

    Plato Yar yeh Thymos purana concept hai - Plato ka. Plato kay dialogue "Republic" main isko detail main bataya hai plato nay (meri video dekho Republic per). Plato bolta hai kay human soul kay 3 parts hotay hain (1) Logos (in the head) - rationality / reason----------------------------------------------------philosophers (2) Thymos (in the chest) - emotions / feelings / bravery / SPRIT-------------------warriors Thymos is the part of the human personality that demands recognition of one’s inner dignity, and the seat of the emotions of pride, anger, and of shame. (3) Eros (in the stomach) - bodily needs/ sex / food----------------------------------------farmers / craftsmen /mazdoor Hegel I am not sure if you know the basics of Hegel's philosophy of history. If you do not please check out the following link it will give you a basic idea of Hegel's Historicism. philosophynow.org/issues/129/Hegel_on_History If you know Hegel's Historicism, Thymos / spiritedness , according to Hegel has been the primary driver of the entire human historical process. I hope I was helpful.

    Yes in one or the other video Jordan Peterson says Post Modernists don't want people ro have cars and all that. I had an question. Since this concept of soul, Plato's idea of an ideal world that we can't see in this world seems similar to our Abrahamic religions. We can safely say that Abrahamic religions have Platonic basis. Right? Then To which degree Islam has Greek Influence? Here in India also people had came up with Aatma and Swarg(Heaven). Can we say here in India this idea devloped independently?

  • @3rd_POV

    Christianity borrowed a lot from Greeks. There are many passages in New Testament that are copied from Homer’s Odyssey. Christianity is a combination of Hebraic and Greek traditions. I made a video on Saint Paul who invented Christianity. Islam borrowed heavily from Christianity/ Judaism. Greeks borrowed many ideas from East, could be India or Egypt or Mesopotamia. Agar Pythagoras Egypt na gata parhnay Kay liye… things would have been very different!!!
