Thank you this is interesting and informative
Bought 3 today absolutely beautiful majestic trees soooooo excited to what them mature ❤
I have 2 Mimosa trees. One has a lot more color (pink) in the flowers. I'm guessing it has to do with a difference in the soil. If you agree, what do you think I need to add to the soil under the bland one? Or do you think the problem is something else? (Both were transplanted from saplings from the same tree.)
What a shame you used a robot voice 😢

Thanks for this helpful video about the Iroko tree! It is in Chinua Achebe's novel, Things Fall Apart. I put the word in our vocabulary list to try to learn more about the vocabulary from the book, as well as Nigerian terms and culture.

I have planted Mahagonyb3 months back.. when should I prune the plant??
Pruning Mahogany plants is typically done to shape and promote healthy growth. However, it's important to note that specific pruning times can vary based on factors such as climate, local conditions, and the age of the plant. In general, young Mahogany trees benefit from light pruning to encourage branching and a sturdy structure. For Mahogany trees that are three months old, it's advisable to wait until they have established a strong root system and are actively growing before initiating any pruning. Pruning is often recommended during the dormant season or early spring, but since Mahogany trees are generally evergreen, you can prune them when they are actively growing. Observing the growth patterns of your Mahogany tree and waiting for signs of robust development is crucial. Look for new shoots and branches, and if your tree is actively growing, you can consider light pruning to shape it. Always use clean and sharp pruning tools to make clean cuts, and avoid removing more than one-third of the tree's total foliage at a time. Remember to tailor your pruning approach based on the specific needs and characteristics of your Mahogany tree, and monitor its response to ensure healthy growth. If you have any doubts or specific concerns, consulting with a local horticulturist or arborist can provide personalized guidance based on your local conditions.
