OMFG I never get tired of watching this performance. Ever time I watch it Alex's solo always gives me goosebumps. I'm 59 and still jam like it's the first time I've heard them.

No wonder they were always so Popular in the Netherlands, this one concert was defining for the fans and Rush as a band, because they finally got the whole number going in one go playing it for an audience. The proces to get there was huge. They promised eachother to never do this to eachother again, it was too much 🙂 Pinkpop is legendary, many bands like U2 and the Simple minds for example trying to find their way to fame.. I know, I'm getting older but wow nobody plays from the soul anymore, or forms a band and do their own thing without anyone ruining it.. I'm even ashamed to take modern "artists" serious.. While they should feel ashamed because they don't even come close to 5% of their quality..

I first heard Working Man on an underground Chicago radio station before the album was released; I was hooked and remain so. This kind of writing and musicianship is in shorter supply today, and I've always appreciated being turned on to artists by another Rush fan. To return the favor, I hope you might enjoy this music. There's a tie by association between this song and Rush. The drummer is the fabulous progressive/jazz/fusion drummer Keith Carlock. He and Neil Peart shared the same drum tech, Lorne "Gump" Wheaton. Michael Harris has a plethora of progressive, jazz fusion and heavy rock material, consider this a primer if you like it and explore his current and past catalog. I have no monetary connection, just love and support the art... kzread.info/dash/bejne/kZ6Mr9umZqu0obA.html

RUSH is the Greatest Rock Band in the Galaxy... Lifeson played til his fingers bled... Then, he'd keep on playing 🎸 ❤️ I've never seen a Rock band so committed to their music, nor a Rock 🎸 band that played live concerts with so much love and pride ❤️❤️❤️

I love how the camera (justifiably) sticks to Lifeson like glue during & after his impassioned, intricate solo - until Lee throws in his prolonged lick around the 3:30 mark, and then they cut to Camera B like, "Oh shit, where did that come from? Get that guy in here, too!" And they went straight into 2112 after this? Crazy.

I absolutely can't understand why Rush is never (or rarely) ever mentioned alongside of the heaviest, greatest, most musically capable, prodigiously talented bands in the history of rock. That they're not up there with Zeppelin, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia, Frank Zappa...all absolute musicians with deep relationships with their instruments. This above is a great example! It's a song with such intricate complicated time signatures, (prog rock gods!!) difficult solo maneuvers, played at such an incredibly difficult (for me at least) speed with barely an error! They are absolutely mesmerizing and are one of the top 5 Heavy/Prog Rock bands of all time...They are the definition of musical perspicacity and deserve all the accolades!!

Alex is the most sensual, talented, evocative and funny guitarist I'm aware of... Lots of other greats, too, OF COURSE! But I never get tired of his and Geddy's stage presence together, nevermind their musical genius. Neil is included, too but Alex and Geddy are who you see.
