Welcome to April Tillman Pilates bringing you affordable classical Pilates. We believe Pilates is good for the body and everyone should have the opportunity to have it in their life. If you don't have the budget to do privates sessions with an instructor on equipment then this might be a good option for you. Or maybe you do take equipment sessions and want to add in a second or third workout. Using this platform we are hoping to bring free Pilates to your home so you have the opportunity to do more workouts and be consistent in your practice. Please join me in the classical method of Pilates.
Please omit exercises that are not right for your body. We definitely want to work hard but we don't want to create tension in the body. Pilates should never be painful, you should feel energized, good about yourself, and excited for the next lesson.

Thanks April, I enjoyed watching you introduce classical repertoire to a newbie! I'm about to give some fitness reformer instructors their first traditional reformer session so I'm sure I'll draw on some of your tips!
Thank you and have fun :)
I do not like when instructors touch so much, and over Que unnecessarily.
Omg...this is the real deal..thank you!
Love watching it.❤ Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much

BRAVO!!! So inspiring!
Thanks for this video
my pleasure :)
Wow. How long has she been practicing?
Hello, Renata started her certification 2010 finished 2011 and still practicing and teaching!
good!!❤
thank you :)
Hi April! Thanks for sharing a bit of your work. Your teaching style is great, very calm and precise. Love how you stay strong in your center while teaching Renata. Also, many thanks to Renata, who did this challenging workout to help your apprentices - and us! Quick question: I noticed you keep the mirrors behind the Reformer instead of in front of them. Is there any particular reason for that? Greetings! João
Thank you for all the kind compliments. You probably couldn't see in the video but I do have mirrors in front of the reformers as well as behind. When teaching I mostly use the behind mirrors and side mirror. The behind mirrors help me with seeing posture and alignment so I can do a lot of correcting has I stand in front of the foot bar and I like it when clients turn around and are doing exercises like pull-straps, chest expansion, thigh stretch ect...they can see their own alignment and make adjustments. I think more mirrors the better. Thank you for watching!
@@apriltillmanpilates Thank you for such a thorough explanation!
very good🎉🎉
It is so interesting to watch advanced reformer series and makes me feel so calm for some reason :)

hello, can I please bother you to what length is your reformer ? 80" or 86" ?
Hello hello, the reformer she's working on is 86 the black one behind is 80 inches :)
thank you @@apriltillmanpilates
I am finishing up my teacher certification and will be teaching two classes, one of which is Gentle Reformer. Thanks you for putting the video together of a beginner. I am still getting my student teaching hours in and I have a few beginners lined up to practice teach. I will refer back to this repertoire and cuing.
Thank you so much for watching and congratulations on your certification. I wish you the best. @@createwithconfidence8094

Thanks, Renata!! Great to mix it up with the circle.
You are so welcome!
You packed a lot into those 14 min!! I really enjoyed this one!
More to come!
this amazing! we need to see more of Dortha
would love to see longer full class videos, especially with emphasis on cueing! you're great thanks!
Thank you will work on one. Most people ask for no more then 15 min. 😃
Love this slow and precise class, April! So hard to find good slow classical mat on KZread. I look forward to seeing more of your videos!
Thank you Katie, I appreciate the complement. Stay tuned for more :)
You are such a great example of how nicely this program shapes your body. For those that don’t know April her body and conditioning hasn’t changed in 20 years. 😊
Thank you so much Vickey!! XO
Hi April! Thanks for the video, love how you make each tip fit seamlessly into the movement, so there's no need to stop! I have a quick question about the Roll Up: I've done it for a long time with flexed feet. I tried a couple times with pointed toes, and I could feel better my seat and my inner thighs. I've noticed it helps keeping my lower spine rounded as I lift off from my hips. But I'm not sure if it's the purpose, or it has another reason. I would love to know, if you don't mind! XO
Sounds like you got it! You should definitely be feeling all parts working. I like to mix it up with flexed and sometimes pointed depending on what I'm working on. The flexed feet I tend to feel my backside more plus you gain stretch--- both ways are correct. And the lower spine lifting off your hips, is key! Thank you :)
@@apriltillmanpilates Much appreciated! ☺️
I always do Pilates class with my shirt off.
So excited to see you both on you tube!
Channon, so nice to hear from you :) xoxo
